Let me be a woman

Let Me Be a Woman!

The words “Let me be a woman” began as a cry.

Many years ago, Elisabeth Elliot used those words as the title of a book she wrote for her only daughter, Valerie, as she prepared for marriage. It was a mother speaking into a changing world. A world where the early lies about womanhood were already beginning to circulate. A world where femininity was starting to be questioned, softened, reshaped, and subtly redefined.

Let me be a woman

Elisabeth Elliot could see it coming.

She knew that her daughter would not be the only one reading those pages. She knew that generations of young women would encounter the same confusion, the same pressure, and the same temptation to distrust God’s design. So she wrote not merely for one daughter, but for many daughters yet unborn.

ECHOES OF TRUTH

But what is striking is this: the lies Elisabeth Elliot was addressing then were only the beginning!!! What she warned against decades ago has now matured, hardened, and institutionalized. What was once subtle is now loud. What was once whispered is now celebrated. Womanhood is no longer merely questioned. It is openly redefined.

Since Elisabeth Elliot wrote Let Me Be a Woman, there has been a steady deterioration. Womanhood has been detached from the body, from nurture, from home, from motherhood, and even from Scripture itself. Women are now told that to be strong. they must be hard; to be equal, they must be the same, and to be free, they must abandon the very design God gave them.

It is into this moment that a new song is born. LET ME BE A WOMAN.

Let me be a woman

Let Me Be a Woman is the voice of a woman who has seen the confusion, examined the claims, and chosen to return to agreement with her Creator.

To say “Let me be a woman” today is no longer a sentimental statement. It is an act of courage. It is a refusal to be reshaped by a world that did not create us. It is a decision to trust the Bible as the final authority on womanhood.

As Biblical Womanhood Month begins, this song sets the tone. It carries forward the same conviction Elisabeth Elliot held many years ago, now needed more urgently than ever.

Not “let me redefine myself.”
Not “let me become something else.”
But simply, let me be a woman.

Let Me be a Woman by Dynamite Films Africa Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I was not an accident of time
Nor a mistake of design
My Father formed me carefully
And called His work good
Every measure, every boundary
Every grace He assigned
I stand complete in what He gave
Nothing lacking, nothing wrong

[Chorus]
Let me be a woman
As my Father made me
According to His wisdom
And His eternal will
I do not need the world’s correction
For His work is perfect still
Let me be a woman
Let me be a woman

[Verse 2]
I do not need another shape
Nor a borrowed voice
I do not need to harden myself
To prove a kind of strength
There is no shame in gentleness
No loss in quiet ways
The Lord delights in meekness
And He keeps the humble safe

[Chorus]
Let me be a woman
As my Father made me
According to His wisdom
And His eternal will
I do not need the world’s correction
For His work is perfect still
Let me be a woman
Let me be a woman

[Verse 3]
I do not need to be a man
To walk in dignity
I do not need to trade my place
For power not meant for me
There is honor in submission
When it rests in God alone
There is beauty in obedience
And glory in the home

[Chorus]
Let me be a woman
As my Father made me
According to His wisdom
And His eternal will
I do not need the world’s correction
For His work is perfect still
Let me be a woman
Let me be a woman

[Verse 4]
My hands are shaped for nurture
My heart for sacred trust
To carry life, to raise the young
To build what truly lasts
This is not confinement
This is holy ground
The ministry You gave to me
Is where Your glory’s found

[Chorus]
Let me be a woman
As my Father made me
According to His wisdom
And His eternal will
I do not need the world’s correction
For His work is perfect still
Let me be a woman
Let me be a woman

[Bridge]
Do not reshape what God has spoken
Do not rename what He has blessed
Do not call His order bondage
Or His wisdom less
If you would strengthen me
Then lead me back to Him
Do not awaken what He forbids
Or dress rebellion up as light

[Chorus]
Let me be a woman
As my Father made me
According to His wisdom
And His eternal will
I do not need the world’s correction
For His work is perfect still
Let me be a woman
Let me be a woman

[Outro]
I am at peace with how I’m made
I stand where He has placed me
This is my calling
This is my joy
Let me be a woman
