DAY 14: FEED ON CHRIST OR STARVE THE SEED WITHIN
JUICY JULY 2026: ZOE UNLEASHED!
TEXT: JOHN 6:26-68
BIBLE STUDY: MATTHEW 13
Welcome to Juicy July 2026, Day 14!
Praise God for bringing us this far. Every day, the Lord has been gently leading us deeper into His heart, revealing truths that have the power to transform our lives from the inside out.
As you begin today’s study, don’t rush. Ask the Holy Spirit to quiet every distraction and give you a heart that is ready to receive. Biblical truths are not merely understood with the mind, they are received by a yielded heart.
May the Lord open our eyes, enlarge our understanding, and draw us into a deeper experience of Himself today.

OPENING PRAYER
Father, thank You for bringing me into another day of this glorious journey. Open the eyes of my understanding today. Remove every veil from my heart, and let me see Your truth as You desire me to see it. Let Your Word become life to me, not just knowledge. Teach me by Your Holy Spirit, and let the life of Christ become more real to me than ever before. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
EXHORTATION: FEED ON CHRIST OR STARVE THE SEED WITHIN YOU
“As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.”- John 6:57 (KJV)
Yesterday, we discovered that the Seed of Christ within us must die to self so that the life hidden within it can be revealed. We learned that the Cross breaks the shell of self, allowing the life of Christ to shine through us. But death is not the end of the story; a seed that has broken open must now grow, and every seed that grows needs food.
No farmer plants a seed and expects it to become a mighty tree without nourishment. The soil must continually supply nutrients, water must continually be available, and the seed depends upon a constant supply of life if it is to mature.
The same is true in the spirit. The Seed of Christ that God planted in you at the new birth is alive, but it must continually be fed. God never intended that His life within you would remain as a little seed; His desire is that Christ would grow in you until His life fills every part of your being.
The moment a baby is born, everyone begins thinking about one thing: feeding the baby. No loving mother gives her newborn child solid food. You do not place pounded yam, tuwo shinkafa, eba, or rice before a baby that was born yesterday. The baby’s digestive system is not designed for that kind of food, and if you feed it the wrong food, you may destroy the very life you are trying to preserve.
Every life has its own food. Fish feed differently from birds, birds feed differently from cattle, and plants draw their nourishment from the soil. Likewise, the new creation has its own food. The Seed of Christ cannot grow on the things that feed the natural man. It cannot be nourished by worldly entertainment, human wisdom, ambition, success, popularity, or the pleasures of this age. Those things may satisfy the flesh for a moment, but they leave the spirit starving.
This explains why many believers remain spiritually weak. The problem is not that they do not possess the Seed, the Seed is there. The problem is that they are trying to feed a heavenly life with earthly food. The spirit can only be sustained by what comes from God.
This raises one of the greatest questions we can ever ask:
What is the food of the spirit?
What must the Seed of Christ continually feed upon if it is to grow, blossom, and bear fruit?
To answer that question, we must go back to the very beginning, to the Garden of Eden, where God first revealed that man was created to live by a particular kind of food.
EAT CHRIST? HOW?
Looking at today’s title, Eat Christ and Live!, I know some of you may already be wondering, “What exactly does that mean?” And if you have ever carefully read John chapter 6, you will know that you are not the first person to ask that question. In fact, many of the people who had been following Jesus reached that point where Christ told them to eat Him and stopped following Him altogether.
His words sounded too difficult, too strange, and too controversial. How could a man ask people to eat Him? Many could not understand Him, and they walked away.
My prayer today is that the Holy Spirit Himself will open our eyes to understand what Jesus was saying. Because until the Lord gives us understanding, spiritual truths remain locked. But when He opens our eyes, His Word suddenly becomes spirit and life.
Now, let me ask you another question: when you hear expressions like “Our Daily Bread,” “Daily Manna,” or when Jesus says, “I am the Bread of Life,” what immediately comes to your mind? Most Christians would probably answer, “The Bible. We must read our Bible every morning because the Word of God is our daily bread.”
Reading the Scriptures daily is absolutely essential. Never neglect it. But my sisters, that is not the full picture. Jesus did not say, “Eat the Scriptures.” Instead, He said, “Eat Me.” That is a profound difference!
In fact, Jesus once confronted the religious leaders with these sobering words in John 5:39–40:
“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.”
Do you see the tragedy? They knew the Book, but they missed the Person. They studied the Scriptures, but they never fed upon Christ to whom the Scriptures pointed.
That danger still exists today. It is possible to read the Bible every day, to know many verses, to attend Bible studies, and to listen to sermons, and yet remain spiritually weak because Christ Himself is not being received, trusted, obeyed, and enjoyed in intimate fellowship. This is exactly what Jesus is going to teach us in John chapter 6.
Today, we are going beyond merely reading about Christ. We are going to discover what it truly means to feed upon Him, to live by Him, and to grow by continually receiving His life. May the Holy Spirit open our understanding as we journey together. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
THERE ARE DIFFERENT KINDS OF FOOD
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4
Before we go any further, I want us to understand something very important: there are different kinds of food. Not all food goes into your mouth. God created man as a soul, possessing a spirit and living in a body, as seen in 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Each part has its own kind of food.
1. There is food for the body.
This is the one we all know. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, rice, bread, pizza, shawarma, and ice cream. This is the food that goes directly into your mouth. These foods nourish the physical frame, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. God gave them to us for our enjoyment and physical strength, which Paul affirms in 1 Timothy 4:4-5.
The problem begins when food becomes an idol. Many people no longer eat to live; they live to eat. Like Esau in Genesis 25:29-34 and Hebrews 12:16-17, they sell eternal treasures for temporary satisfaction. A single bowl of food was enough to make him exchange an eternal inheritance.
Many people today also cannot joke with this kind of food. They plan their entire lives around it, spend their money on it, and some are even under the total captivity of their appetite. They simply cannot say no to food.
In fact, some ladies have sold their purity, their dignity, their virginity, and even their destinies for food. A man only needs to promise them pizza, shawarma, or a nice dinner, and the aroma alone is enough to weaken their convictions. For one night of pleasure and one temporary meal, they lose what God intended to preserve for a lifetime.
Sisters, if food has become your master, may the Lord deliver you today in the Name of Jesus.
You were not born to eat; you eat to live- not live to eat!
May the Lord break every chain of uncontrolled appetite in our lives.
2. There is food for the soul.
Your soul also feeds. Your soul consists of your mind, your emotions, and your will. Today, the world is constantly telling us to “feed your mind,” “read more,” “develop yourself,” “say positive affirmations,” and “stand before the mirror and declare who you are.” All of these things are directed toward the mind, and to some extent, they work. They can make your mind stronger, increase your confidence, and even change certain habits.
But my sisters, they do not feed your spirit. Never confuse mental strength with spiritual life, they are not the same. Then there are books. People say, “If you want to be a leader, you must be a reader.” That is true, but nobody tells you how dangerous reading can become. It is extremely dangerous to feed your mind carelessly. Your mind is one of the most sensitive parts of your being. Whatever enters it begins to shape the way you think, reason, judge, and eventually live.
That is why you cannot pick up every book, watch every movie, listen to every podcast, embrace every philosophy, or consume every counsel. The Bible warns in Psalm 1:1, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…” Notice that. Counsel is food. Books, movies, music, social media, ideas- they are all food.
The question is not whether you are feeding your mind; the question is, what are you feeding it? Many minds have become deeply polluted simply because they have been eating from the wrong table. Sisters, your mind is precious. Guard what enters it. Do not consume every opinion simply because it is popular, and do not absorb every philosophy simply because it appears intelligent. Let the Holy Spirit become the strict gatekeeper of your mind.
Every single day, your soul is eating something. The question is, who prepared today’s meal? Was it the Lord, or was it the world?
3. There is food for the spirit.
Now we come to the most important food of all. There is a food that your spirit was designed to eat, and there is only one food that can truly nourish it: Life!
If your spirit does not continually feed upon this Life, it becomes weak, dry, malnourished, completely stops growing, and becomes fruitless. Jesus taught this in John 15:5–6 when He said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches…” A branch may still be attached to the vine, but if life is no longer flowing through it, it eventually withers and is cut off. This is why many Christians are not growing. The Seed has been planted, but the Seed is starving.
Now let us go to the temptation of Jesus. Satan came to Him after forty days of fasting, and Jesus was genuinely hungry. Satan proposed in Matthew 4:3, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” Jesus had the divine power; He could have turned stones into bread immediately.
But notice what Jesus saw that Satan did not:
Jesus knew that this was not really about bread. It was about the source of the instruction.
If His Father had asked Him to turn stones into bread, He would have done it immediately. But this instruction was not coming from the Father; it was coming from another voice.
Jesus understood something every son of God must understand:
whatever voice you obey becomes the food you eat.
Satan was inviting Jesus to satisfy His body while starving His spirit. He was asking Jesus to act independently of the Father, and Jesus refused. Instead, He answered in Matthew 4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
Can you see what Jesus just revealed? He acknowledged that the body needs bread, and the mind needs the right kind of knowledge. Yes. But there is another part of man that is far more important: your spirit. And your spirit does not live by physical bread or mental knowledge; it lives entirely by every word that continually proceeds from the mouth of the Father. That is its food. That is its life.
That is why today’s topic is so important. We are going to discover what it truly means to feed upon Christ, because the life of your spirit, (which is your very foundation, strength and power) depends upon it.
LABOUR FOR THE FOOD THAT ENDURES UNTO LIFE
“Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life…” John 6:27
After Jesus had miraculously fed the five thousand with five loaves and two fishes, something interesting happened. The next day, the crowd began looking for Him again. They crossed the sea searching for Jesus, as recorded in John 6:22–25.
At first glance, you would think, “How wonderful! These people are so hungry for the Lord!” But Jesus knew their hearts. He immediately exposed their true motive in John 6:26: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek Me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.”
Can you imagine how heavy the Lord’s heart must have been? They were looking for Jesus, but not because they wanted Jesus; they wanted bread!
My sisters, has anything really changed today? Look around the Church. How many people attend prayer meetings because they truly desire the Lord Himself? How many people fast because they long to know Him? How many people seek His face simply because they love Him? Analyze almost all the prayer houses and programmes in our land and check for yourself. Is it for the meat that perisheth or the meat that endures unto life that they are?
To make matters worse, the church itself has now become the primary center for feeding and empowering people to labor for the meat that perishes. In this day and age, the church is the one organizing programs on moneymaking, business, and physical success, focusing entirely on labor for the mind and the body. You don’t even need to register for professional courses anymore; you just have to belong to a church. They will train you on how to run after money.
This is actually a systematic destruction of your soul and your spiritual life.
Instead of teaching complete dependence on the Lord, they tell you to “shine your eyes.” That is why you begin to see bizarre, unscriptural programs popping up in modern churches. You see topics like “How to date right so you can choose the best partner.” You see things that are so strange, so alien to the Bible, so foreign to the New Testament, and completely empty of the Gospel of Christ.
Many churches today are filled with spiritually dead members. Their spirits are starved and dead, yet they are being trained and coached to passionately pursue the world, and tragically, people are enjoying it! They say, “The church is making us successful now. We are making a lot of money. We are climbing the ladder.” But they do not realize they are being fed food strictly for the flesh.
This is a deep tragedy. It is a reality that should make us mourn!
Back to our text.
Many people come to Jesus because they want bread. Bread in the form of money, bread in the form of promotion, bread in the form of marriage, bread in the form of healing, and bread in the form of miracles. Even our worship often reveals our hearts. Much of them revolves around what God has done for us: “You have blessed me,” “You have lifted me,” “You have healed me,” “You have fought my battles.” ”Ah, You must be so good, my Helper!”
There is absolutely nothing wrong with thanking God. The Bible commands us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks in everything. We should never stop thanking Him for His goodness. But if that is the entirety of our Christianity, then something is terribly wrong. If all we seek is God’s hand and never His heart, and if all we love are His gifts and never His Person, then we are no different from the crowd in John chapter 6.
Jesus therefore gave them one of the greatest commands in the entire Bible in John 6:27:
“Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you.”
Do you hear what He is saying? Do not spend your entire life pursuing food that perishes. People cross countries for it, they work day and night for it, they sacrifice their health for it, and some even sacrifice their souls for it. Yet, one day, every earthly possession will perish.
Jesus says there is another kind of food, a food that does not perish, a food that gives eternal life, and a food that will still matter on the last day. Naturally, the people became curious. They remembered that Moses had given Israel manna in the wilderness, so they said in John 6:31,
“Our fathers did eat manna in the desert…” Jesus immediately corrected them, clarifying that it was not Moses who gave them the true Bread, saying in John 6:32, “My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.”
Imagine their excitement. They said in John 6:34, “Lord, evermore give us this bread.” Then came one of the greatest revelations ever spoken. Jesus looked at them and declared in John 6:35,
“I am the bread of life.”
He didn’t say, “I will give you bread,” or, “I know where the bread is,” or, “I can make bread,” but, “I am the Bread.”
The Bread they had been waiting for was standing right before them. Life Himself had come down from heaven. The true Manna had arrived. The true Tree of Life was now among men, yet they could not recognize Him.
Jesus went further. He said that if anyone wanted eternal life, and if anyone wanted to be raised on the last day, he must eat Him. He said in John 6:53,
“Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you.”
The people were shocked, asking in John 6:52, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?” It sounded offensive, impossible, and like absolute madness. But Jesus never withdrew His statement. Instead, He repeated it again and again because this was the very heart of the Gospel.
Perhaps you are asking the same question today: “How can I eat Jesus?” That is exactly where Jesus is leading us.
He wants us to move beyond merely admiring Him, beyond merely reading about Him, and beyond merely believing facts about Him, into a life where Christ Himself becomes our daily food.
This is the food that nourishes the Seed of God within us. This is the food that produces Zoe. This is the food that prepares us for eternity.
Jesus said repeatedly throughout this chapter, in John 6:39, 40, 44, and 54
“…and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Why? Because only those who continually feed upon His life possess the life that death and hell cannot overcome.
The Tree of Life from the middle of the Garden had finally spoken, and the true Bread from heaven was standing right before them. The essential nourishment for the human spirit was no longer hidden in old symbols or historical types; it had become flesh and dwelt among men.
Jesus Himself is the actual Bread that gives life to the Seed within us. Yet many in that crowd still completely misunderstood Him because they thought He was speaking about physical eating, so Jesus would go even deeper, using even stronger language to reveal the ultimate mystery of true spiritual nourishment.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO EAT CHRIST?
“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.'” – John 6:53
The Jews were utterly scandalized by this statement, wondering how this man could possibly give them His flesh to eat and assuming He must be speaking of cannibalism. Even many of His own disciples were deeply disturbed by the radical tone of the message, muttering among themselves that this was a hard saying and questioning who could possibly listen to or understand it. They were completely offended because they were listening with natural ears to a physical description, while Jesus was explicitly unveiling deep, spiritual realities.
Jesus was not talking about eating His physical body at all; rather, He was explaining the exact mechanism of how the life of God enters, resides, and continues to grow within a human being.
Notice how many times He carefully repeated and layered the exact same truth throughout the course of this single chapter, interchanging the phrases: “He who believes in Me,” “He who comes to Me,” and “He who eats Me.”
These are not three separate or distinct experiences, but rather three interconnected ways of describing the exact same spiritual reality. To come to Christ, to believe in Christ, and to eat Christ all speak of receiving Him so completely, so intimately, and so structurally into your inner man that His life becomes your life!!
Jesus then gave us the absolute key that unlocks the entire mystery of this chapter, stating:
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
If you look closely at this pattern, quickly connect it to Matthew 4 where Jesus said:
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4)
Did you see that?
Man shall only live by the EVERY WORD that comes from the mouth of God!
How exactly did Jesus live while on this earth? He lived by the Father, He listened continually to the Father, He trusted the Father completely, He obeyed the Father explicitly, and He depended entirely upon the Father for every single action and word.
That total dependence was His food! In fact He said:
“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” – John 4:34
What an astonishing and revolutionary statement! Jesus did not merely say that He did the Father’s will; He said that the Father’s will was His literal food!
In other words, obedience nourished Him, every single instruction from the Father strengthened Him, and every act of obedience fed His spirit. Every moment He chose the Father’s will above His own natural desires, He was actively eating heavenly bread!
This also explains why Jesus repeatedly said that the Son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees the Father do, that He does nothing of Himself but speaks exactly as the Father taught Him, and that He came down from heaven not to do His own will, but the will of Him who sent Him.
This was the unbroken lifestyle of Jesus: He never acted independently, He never pursued His own agenda, and He never lived by His own human wisdom. He lived continually by the Father’s Word, and that was His food.
No wonder Jesus could say that His disciples should not labour primarily for earthly food, but for “the food which endures to everlasting life.”
That food is not found in a supermarket; it is found in an active relationship, and it is discovered in hearing the Father’s voice and joyfully doing His will.
And now Jesus looks at us and says, “Live by Me exactly as I live by My Father.”
This is the ultimate reality of what it truly means to eat Christ: it is to live in such a state of complete, unbroken dependence upon Him that His words become your daily nourishment, His will becomes your highest delight, and His commands become your actual life.
It means His voice becomes your exclusive direction, His pleasure becomes your absolute pleasure, His desires become your desires, and His life becomes your life.
Every single act of daily obedience is another mouthful of the Bread of Life.
This completely changes the way we think about obedience, revealing that obedience is not merely following a set of religious instructions, but is actually a way of feeding on God!
Every time you forgive because He asked you to forgive, you are eating Christ; every time you refuse temptation because He said “No,” you are eating Christ. Every time you choose prayer instead of distraction, humility instead of pride, purity over lust, truth instead of compromise, and generosity instead of selfishness, you are actively feeding upon the Bread of Life.
The Christian who continually obeys Christ is the Christian who is continually feeding upon Christ!
This is why disobedience is so dangerous; it is not merely breaking a rule, but it is refusing the very food that gives life to the Seed within you, sis!!!
If you continually obey your flesh, you are feeding on the flesh; if you continually obey the world, you are feeding on the world. If you continually obey the opinions of men, you are feeding on the opinions of men, but if you continually hear Christ, trust Christ, and obey Christ, you are feeding directly on Christ.
Little by little, what you feed upon eventually becomes your life.
The Christian life is not about trying harder, but about feeding better, for the Seed within you will always become exactly like the One upon whom it continually feeds.
The Seed of Christ within you grows every single time you feed upon Christ Himself through loving trust and joyful obedience, which is the exact life that Adam was originally created to live, and the exact life Jesus came to restore.

THE WORDS THAT CHRIST SPEAKS ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” – John 6:63
By this time, many of Jesus’ disciples were utterly confused. They had heard Him speak repeatedly about eating His flesh and drinking His blood, and they simply could not comprehend or understand Him, which caused many of His disciples to turn back and walk with Him no more.
They walked away because they interpreted spiritual words from a purely physical perspective, so Jesus came down to the level of the disciples who still stood by Him, to explain what He had been saying all along, declaring that it is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing, and the words He speaks are spirit and life.
There it is! The absolute key to the entire chapter, proving that Jesus was never inviting them to eat His physical body, but was inviting them to receive His life through His words!
His words are not ordinary human words because they are spirit and they are life, meaning that every word proceeding from His mouth carries His very essence and life.
When you receive that Word with faith, treasure it in your heart, and actively obey it, that Word becomes immediate nourishment to the Seed of Christ within you.
The Father’s Word is food, the Son’s Word is food, and the Holy Spirit takes that living Word and makes it an active, dynamic reality within us.
Can you see the beautiful cooperation of the Trinity once again? The Father speaks, the Son is the actual Bread of Life, and the Holy Spirit quickens that Word to make it life within our spirits, showing that the whole Godhead is entirely involved in nourishing the Seed that has been planted within us.
This is precisely why merely reading the Bible alone is not enough; many people read the Scriptures every day, yet their inner man remains completely dry and weak. They remain dry because the letter alone cannot produce life, and the Holy Spirit must breathe upon the written text to make it a living word within us, which is why we do not merely study the Bible, but we actively feed upon it.
We meditate deeply on it, we pray over it, we ask the Holy Spirit to open its locked mysteries to us, and we explicitly obey what He shows us so that the written Word becomes the living Word in our hearts. Then, it truly becomes food, it becomes strength, and it becomes life, which is exactly what Jeremiah experienced when he cried out,
“Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart.”
Jeremiah did not literally eat paper and ink, but he received God’s Word into the absolute depths of his being until it became an inseparable part of him!
That is exactly what Jesus is calling us to do: not merely to admire His Word, not merely to memorize His Word, but to eat His Word by receiving it, believing it, obeying it, and living by it, for every word that comes from His mouth carries the very life that the Seed within us longs for.
CAN YOU SEE THE DANGER OF NOT HEARING GOD?
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4
At this point, I want to ask you a very serious question: can you see the danger of not hearing God?
Notice carefully that Jesus did not merely say that man lives by the Scriptures. He said, “…by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
It is not merely what God said yesterday, what He said to Moses, or what He said to Paul. It is what is continually, actively proceeding from His mouth today. God is still speaking.
Now, think about this: if your spirit lives by every word that proceeds from God’s mouth, what happens when you stop hearing Him? Your spirit begins to starve.
This is exactly why the baptism of the Holy Spirit is far more than speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues is precious, it is one of the beautiful expressions of the Spirit’s work. But the Holy Spirit came for much more than that.
Jesus promised in John 16:13, “When He, the Spirit of truth, is come… He shall guide you into all truth… for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak.”
The Holy Spirit is Heaven’s Voice living inside you. He takes what belongs to Christ and makes it known to you, as declared in John 16:14-15. He reminds you of the words of Jesus in John 14:26, and He is there to teach you, lead you, warn you, comfort you, convict you, and feed you.
Can you now see why the enemy fights intimacy? Can you see why he keeps believers too busy to wait upon God? Can you see why he is content for Christians to become highly religious, active, and busy, provided they no longer hear the Shepherd’s voice?
He does this because he knows a believer who no longer hears God is a believer whose spirit is actively starving.
The Christian life was never designed to be lived from yesterday’s meal. No one eats breakfast on Monday and expects to remain strong throughout the rest of the week. Neither can your spirit survive on yesterday’s fellowship.
The Father has today’s bread, today’s instruction, today’s correction, today’s encouragement, today’s warning, today’s assignment, and today’s grace. And every single one of those words carries life.
This does not mean we are looking for voices outside of the Scriptures. Never! The Holy Spirit never contradicts the written Word; He is the Author of the Scriptures. Rather, He takes the written Word and makes it living. He breathes upon it, opens it, and applies it personally to your life.
Those words He says to you are not ordinary impressions. They are the daily bread of sons.
Jesus continually, daily fed upon the Father’s voice. That is why He was full of Life. That is why He never missed the Father’s will.
My sisters, this is the life to which we have been called. The Holy Spirit has been given to us so that we, too, may hear the Father’s voice and feed upon Christ every single day. For how can you live by words you never hear?
WHAT ARE YOU FEEDING ON?
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” – John 15:4
Dear sisters, we are coming to the end of today’s study, but we have really come back to where everything began.
There is a Seed inside you. God planted it there the very moment you were born again, and it carries the complete life of Christ. It carries His nature, His character, His holiness, His love, and His glory. But a seed does not become a mature tree overnight; it must first die to self through the breaking of the Cross, and then it must be continually fed every single day.
The deep tragedy of the church today is not that many Christians do not have the Seed, but rather that the Seed is starving inside of them.
Every day, your eyes are eating, your ears are eating, your mind is eating, your heart is eating, and your spirit is eating. Every single conversation you entertain, every video you watch, every song you listen to, every book you read, every thought you dwell on, and every voice you choose to obey is literally becoming food for your life.
The flesh has its food, the soul has its food, and the spirit also has its own distinct food. The great tragedy of the church today is that many believers spend hours every single day heavily feeding their bodies and their minds, yet they leave their human spirits completely starving.
Then they wonder why they have no internal strength to resist temptation, why the altar of prayer feels so difficult, why the pages of the Bible feel dry, and why their initial love for God has grown so cold. The answer to all these struggles is remarkably simple: the Seed is starved.
The Seed of Christ within you is crying out for the true Bread of Life, because it was never designed to live on entertainment, it cannot grow on gossip, it cannot flourish on social media, and it cannot mature on worldly ambition.
It feeds exclusively on Christ, it feeds on His direct voice, it feeds on His living Word, and it feeds on your daily, loving obedience.
This is precisely why Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you,” because abiding is simply a lifestyle of continual feeding. It is returning to Him every day, listening to Him every day, obeying Him every day, trusting Him every day, and loving Him every day.
Today, the Lord has clearly shown us what that Seed in us has been crying out for all along.
It has been crying out for Christ Himself!
It does not cry out for mere mental Bible knowledge, nor for empty religious activities, nor for external church attendance, but for the actual Person of Christ: His voice, His Word, His will, and His life.
The Christian life can never be sustained by one great emotional encounter you had years ago; just as your physical body cannot survive today on the meal you ate last week, your spirit cannot remain healthy on yesterday’s fellowship alone. You need fresh bread, daily bread, daily fellowship, daily obedience, and daily communion.
The wonderful thing is that the more you consistently feed on Christ, the more your internal appetite changes; the things that once attracted you begin to lose their powerful grip, the pleasures of sin become less appealing, and the constant noise of the world becomes entirely unsatisfying.
Every single time you hear Him and obey Him, you are feeding upon the true Bread of Life; and little by little, Christ is perfectly formed within you until one day, people no longer see merely a religious woman trying hard to be good, but they see the living Christ manifested through your character.
May we never again starve the precious Seed that God has planted within us, and may we hunger for Christ far more than we hunger for the temporary pleasures and immediate gratifications of this world.
Prayer
Father, thank You for giving us Jesus as our Bread, our Meat, and our Drink. Teach me to feed on Christ every day by trusting Your Word, obeying Your voice, and abiding in Your presence. Let the Seed of Christ within me be nourished until it grows into full maturity. May I live by You, just as Jesus lived by the Father. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Let us take our other song for the day prayerfully:

STIRRING THE WATERS
Dear sister, it is that special moment. Take the next 10 minutes to stir the waters by praying in the Holy Ghost. Gladly embrace this sacred pause. Let the instrumental below play as you lift your voice in prayer. Do not rush. Pray until your spirit is refreshed and your heart is stirred.
This is Father to daughter.
This is Spirit to spirit.
Yield yourself completely to Him.
If you have not yet received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, this is your moment. Cry out to your loving Father with all your heart:
“Father, fill me! Baptize me! Immerse me in Your Spirit! I need You for life. Holy Spirit, come. Baptize me with the Holy Ghost, and Father, please grant me another Pentecost, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
Let’s start stirring.
TAKE CHARGE
- Father, in the mighty Name of Jesus, I present myself before You today. I sanctify my spirit, my soul, my body, my home, and this entire atmosphere unto You. Let every part of me and every space around me come under the government of the Holy Spirit.
- By the precious blood of Jesus, I declare that this atmosphere belongs to the Kingdom of God. I establish the Lordship of Jesus Christ over this place. Let every power, every influence, every imagination, every distraction, and every operation of darkness be silenced and brought into absolute submission to the authority of Christ.
- I declare that I am a vessel of the living God. My spirit is open to Heaven alone. My ears are open to hear. My eyes are open to see. My heart is soft and ready to receive. Every veil over my understanding is removed in the Name of Jesus. Every resistance to the working of the Holy Spirit is broken.
- Father, breathe upon me afresh. Let Your Zoe arise within me. Let every dead place receive Your life. Let every weary place receive Your strength. Let every dark place be flooded with Your light. Let everything in me that is not of Christ bow before the power of Your indestructible life.
- I command every strange spirit, every demonic presence, every satanic interference, every spirit of heaviness, confusion, fear, distraction, slumber, deception, oppression, and resistance to the Word of God to leave this atmosphere now, in the mighty Name of Jesus. You have no place here. Jesus Christ is Lord over this home, this room, this meeting, and my life.
- I release the rivers of living water from within my spirit to flow freely throughout this atmosphere. Let the presence of God fill this place. Let the ministry of angels prevail. Let the voice of the Holy Spirit be loud and clear. Let Heaven invade this atmosphere.
- Today, I take my place as a son of God, a temple of the Holy Spirit, and a carrier of the life of God. I refuse every distraction. I refuse every condemnation. I refuse every limitation. My heart is fixed on Christ, and I receive all that the Father has prepared for me today.
- Father, take absolute charge. Glorify Your Son. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your will be done in me and through me. Let Zoe be unleashed afresh in every part of my life. In the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
START PRAYING
Cry out from your heart:
-
Father, forgive me for every time I have sought Your blessings more than I have sought You. Deliver me from pursuing bread while neglecting the Bread of Life. Let Christ become my greatest hunger.
-
Lord Jesus, rescue me from every substitute for Yourself. Deliver me from feeding my spirit with religion, activity, knowledge, emotions, entertainment, or the wisdom of this world. Bring me back to Yourself, the true Bread from heaven.
-
Holy Spirit, awaken a holy hunger within me. Let my spirit become dissatisfied with everything that is not Christ. Make me restless until I find my satisfaction in Him alone.
-
My Father! Any demonic cage of uncontrolled appetite that wants to make food, pleasure, or physical comfort my master, shatter by fire now! I refuse to sell my purity, my dignity, or my destiny for a temporary plate of fleshly entertainment in Jesus’ name!
-
Every arrow of Esau’s spirit shot against my destiny to make me trade eternal inheritance for earthly and fleshly satisfaction, catch fire and burn to ashes! I declare that my belly is not my god; my body is the temple of the Living God in the mighty name of Jesus!
-
Lord, deliver me from the lifestyle of “living to eat”! I receive the grace to discipline my body in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
-
Every ungodly counsel, toxic book, demonic podcast, and worldly philosophy that I have carelessly used to feed my mind, I vomit you out by the blood of Jesus! I purge my mental space from every digital pollution and worldly advice in Jesus’ name!
-
Father, baptize me afresh with the Holy Spirit. I do not merely want spiritual gifts; I want living fellowship with You. Immerse me in the Holy Spirit until hearing Your voice becomes the normal atmosphere of my life.
-
Open my spiritual ears, O Lord. Remove every veil, every blockage, every distraction, and every spiritual deafness. Give me ears that hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church.
- Lord Jesus, I refuse to live by my own wisdom, my own emotions, or my own understanding. Teach me to live by every word that continually proceeds from the Father’s mouth.
- Lord, I repent for every time I have searched the Scriptures without seeking Christ. Never let me know the Book and miss the Person. Open the Scriptures to me until I see Jesus on every page in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
-
Holy Spirit, make me sensitive to Your gentle whispers. Teach me to recognize Your convictions, Your warnings, Your corrections, and Your instructions. Let me never become dull to Your voice, I plead by the Mercies of the Living God in Jesus Name.
-
Father, make me quick to obey. Deliver me from delayed obedience, selective obedience, and negotiated obedience. Let every word You speak find an immediate “Yes” in my heart. I receive a massive appetite for instant obedience in Jesus’ name!
-
Lord Jesus, feed the Seed You have planted within me. Let the incorruptible Seed grow into full maturity until Christ is fully formed in me. Zoe in me, rise up, spark up, burst alive!
-
Father, let me never neglect the Tree of Life. Every day, draw me to Your table. Every day, feed me with Christ. Every day, nourish me by Your Spirit until Your life becomes my thoughts, my desires, my reactions, my words, and my character.
-
Holy Spirit, make intimacy my lifestyle. Let prayer become my breathing. Let Your presence become my home. Let Your voice become my daily bread.
-
My Father, deliver me from the error of seeking Your hand but never Your heart! I destroy the spirit of “bread-and-butter Christianity” that only comes to Your presence to make demands for money, promotion, and marriage without desiring You, the Person!
-
Every altar of empty religious performance, where I am busy, active, and singing, yet my inner man is starving and dry, scatter by fire! I refuse to be a spiritually dead churchgoer who is financially rich but empty of Zoe in the name of Jesus!
-
I command a divine transition in my prayer life! My prayers will no longer be a mere shopping list before Heaven. Holy Spirit, shift my hunger from the gifts to the Giver, and from the miracles to the Master, in Jesus’ mighty name!
-
Lord, let Your direct voice become my daily bread! I refuse to live on yesterday’s spiritual encounters. Give me fresh manna today, fresh instructions today, and fresh strength for my spirit today in the mighty name of Jesus!
-
Father, deliver me from reading the Bible as a mere academic textbook! I break free from the dry letter that kills. Holy Spirit, breathe upon every scripture I read until it explodes as spirit and raw life inside my inner man in Jesus’ name!
-
Your Word inside my belly, catch fire and produce results! Like Jeremiah, I eat Your words and they become the joy and rejoicing of my heart. I command every damage in my spiritual organs to be repaired as I feed on Christ today in Jesus’ mighty name!
Continue praying as the Lord leads.
Round off with thanksgiving when you are done.
And then continue below.
FATHER’S CORNER
Let the instrumental below play softly while you spend time with your Father. Imagine Him seated right before you. Now, begin to talk to Him as though you can see Him. Heaven is open. Your Father is waiting.
Ask freely. Ask sincerely. Ask for meat, not chaff. Pour out your heart without reservation. This is not a religious exercise; it is a conversation between a Father and His beloved child.
Spend these next 10 minutes unhurried in His presence. If your heart longs to remain longer, please do. Give Him your attention. Listen as much as you speak. Those things in your journal, open them up and cry them out to your Father.
When you are done, round off your time with heartfelt thanksgiving.
PRAYER OF AGREEMENT
Let us pray together as one and see the glory of God. Do not remain silent or just say ‘Amen’. Follow the prayer carefully, open your mouth, and pray along. Repeat each declaration with faith and from the depths of your heart. Let every prayer become your own sincere cry to God.
Remember, this prayer covers every one of us. As you wholeheartedly stand in agreement for your sisters, they are also standing in agreement for you. “Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them” (Matthew 7:12). Therefore, pray earnestly, believe confidently, and expect the Lord to answer.
Now, let us lift up our voices together in faith.
(TRANSCRIPT)
Shall we agree together in prayers?
I go first, you go with me. Let’s pray.
Our Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, thank You for another day of Juicy July. Thank You because Your mercies are new every morning.
Your Word says that if two of us shall agree on earth concerning anything that we ask, it shall be done by our Father in heaven.
Your Word says that where two or three are gathered together in Your name, You are there in the midst of them.
Therefore, Father, today we stand before You as one family, one altar, and one body in Christ.
We come into agreement according to Your Word, and we receive by faith all that You have purposed to do in this season.
Father, we agree that every participant of Juicy July who has not yet truly encountered Jesus Christ shall be saved.
Let every backslider return home. Let every heart be awakened. Let Christ be revealed, and let many come into the knowledge of the truth.
Father, we agree that every hungry heart shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit. No one desiring the gift of the Holy Spirit will leave Juicy July without experiencing it in Jesus.
Father, we agree concerning every sister and every participant whose spiritual hunger has grown cold. Who have no burden for prayers, Father, awaken them by Your mercy.
Let a fresh hunger for Your presence arise in them. Let a holy burden for prayer fall upon them in Jesus Name.
Fill every participant who has experienced the Holy Ghost baptism afresh, Lord. Stir up every spiritual gift. Awaken every grace. Deepen our intimacy with You.
Empower us to live holy lives, to pray fervently, and to fulfil your will for our lives. Let Your Life be fully unleashed within us in the Name of Jesus.
Father, we agree concerning every participant and every name brought before this altar. Let every sickness bow to the name of Jesus. By His stripes, we decree healing.
We agree for creative miracles, Lord. Let damaged organs be restored, missing parts be created, blind eyes be opened, deaf ears hear, and impossible cases become undeniable testimonies, all for the glory of Jesus Christ.
Father, we agree concerning every waiting family. By Your mercy, release the babies You have promised. Let the sound of rejoicing replace the cry of barrenness.
Heal every husband and every wife. Restore every reproductive system. Open every womb according to Your mercy, and let these children be born for Your glory.
Father, we agree concerning kingdom marriages. Bring together those You have prepared for one another.
Bone to her bone, flesh to his flesh.
Break every demonic influence on their marital life, every delay, every deception, every counterfeit relationship, and every barrier standing against Your purpose. Destroy by fire!
Establish for you, godly homes that will glorify Christ and advance Your Kingdom.
Father, we agree concerning the finances of every participant. Open every door You have ordained.
Open every window of heaven over our lives. Break every chain of lack, stagnation, and financial oppression.
Release divine provision, favour, wisdom, opportunities, and abundant supply, that we may abound unto every good work and have more than enough to advance Your Kingdom.
Father, let Your Kingdom come. Let Your will be done in Africa as it is in heaven. Visit Nigeria and every nation represented in this Juicy July. Let the bloodshed cease. Let kidnappings cease. Let terrorism cease. Let violence and corruption be brought low. Let righteousness be exalted.
Purify Your Church. Remove compromise, falsehood, and worldliness. Raise faithful shepherds, bold witnesses, holy families, and labourers who will make disciples for Your glory.
Holy Spirit, take over the church in Nigeria, Africa and the nations again, by your mercy.
Father, because we carry the life of Christ, we decree that every manifestation of death must give way to life. Let sickness give way to life. Let barrenness give way to life. Let weakness give way to life. Let dryness give way to life. Let fear give way to life. Let discouragement give way to life. Let every area where death has spoken be overwhelmed by the life of God.
Let Zoe be unleashed in us, through us, and around us in Jesus Name.
Juicy July, hear the word of the Lord!
No delays, no roadblocks, and no excuses! Every single day of this month will show the raw Zoe life, light, and power of God!
We decree right now: No problem that came into July with us goes out with us!
Thou pregnant womb of heaven, we open our hands wide and we receive our deliverables! You will not go back with our blessings! You will deliver them all completely, and we are enabled to receive them!
Every power that wants to stop us, we stop you right now by fire! You cannot block our answers, and you cannot delay our testimonies!
It is finished, it is settled, and we have won by the power that is in the blood of Jesus!
In Jesus’ mighty name.
AMEN!
VICTORY DECLARATION
Before you leave today, seal everything the Lord has done in your heart with this declaration of victory. Don’t just listen. Sing it boldly. Let every word become your confession of faith. Christ has finished the work; now walk in the victory He has secured for you.
It is finished…
My Lord cried out loud.It is finished…
The price has been paid.It is finished…
The Kingdom invades earth! It is finished…
Therefore I prevail!
Declare it until your spirit believes it. In Christ, the victory is already yours.
