The Woman In His Steps Discipleship Course is a FREE 8-week program organized by The BUD Family Africa to help women understand what following in the footsteps of the Lord really means, to help deepen women’s faith, and to expose the reality that has been created for us to live as true disciples of Christ in a world that is gradually losing its head.
Oh yes, discipleship! This is one main thing lacking in the church today! It is the missing life causing the stinking death in our religious spheres.
Oh, how true discipleship arms us with the right KNOWLEDGE of what it entails to enter in at the narrow gate- and the POWER to do so! Oh, how wonderful it is to have women empowered with the real thing!
If we allow the teachings to penetrate into our spirits, true discipleship would break us, mold us, sharpen us and make us ready to face the enemies (sin, Satan, self, the world) at the gate, no matter how intense they may seem to be.
This is why the WIHS Discipleship Course is so important. It ensures that each sister understands the cost their Master asks for, is prepared to pay the price to standing firm in their faith and is empowered to do so.
True discipleship arms us with the KNOWLEDGE of what it entails to enter in at the narrow gate- and the POWER to do so!
Jesus emphasized the importance of discipleship in Luke 14:27-28:
“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?”
This scriptural foundation forms the basis of our approach to discipleship.
Discipleship is not just about learning biblical teachings; it’s about now receiving the Power to live the life of Christ. Being empowered to be a part of the rare building blocks that Christ needs to build His tower!
Discipleship if allowed in each life helps to ensure we are not just followers in name, but dedicated and prepared servants of Christ, totally surrendered, fully yielded in a compromising world.
Minimum 65% attendance; missing no more than 2 classes.
Submission of a quality Reflection Paper + weekly assessments.
Achieving at least 60% in the final assessment.
Almost each day since I began this class, I bless God for giving (Mrs. Yaks) this vision. Of a truth, my life hasn’t been the same since I began…Since I discovered before the class that it’d be for a number of weeks before the Juicy July programme, I knew it would be something edifying and I had the thoughts that it’d be a teaching process on the Word of God but the light I saw it in wasn’t what I met! What I got was much more than what I expected
Before this class, I actually thought discipleship was something for new converts. When Mrs. Yaks mentioned that we would have a series of discipleship classes, I thought to myself, “Well, it won’t hurt to rediscover Jesus.” At that point in my life, I was contemplating restarting my Christian journey, feeling confused and frustrated. To me, discipleship seemed like repeating the classes I took when I first committed my life to Jesus. However, my perspective has completely changed now. I see it differently. I’ve come to realize that discipleship is essential for progressing in my faith. It’s a crucial aspect of following Jesus Christ. You can’t claim to be a Christian and not engage in discipleship training. I now understand that discipleship should be an integral part of my daily life as a Christian. It provides the spiritual nourishment necessary for growth
Woman in His Steps discipleship course has been of great benefit to my life, it exposed my weakness and failures. I am challenged to be the best version of me for God, daily deny self, devote my all to God, prove my love to Him, obey His word promptly and live the Christ-centered life. As I have learnt that discipleship is a continuous process, I promise to commit myself to grow in it, give myself to listening to messages that will aid my spiritual growth and also be intentional in denying self daily and spending time to learn at the Master’s feet. I’m really grateful for the privilege to be part of this discipleship course. I may not be there yet but surely I know the efforts and prayers invested in this course will not be in vain over my life. I will be who God wants me to be by God’s grace
A Christ-centred, interdenominational family of women committed to walking in the footsteps of Jesus, embracing biblical femininity, and living in the power of the Holy Spirit.
