Theme: Reclaiming Biblical Womanhood
“A woman who rejects the Bible as her source of identity will always look elsewhere for definition. And what she will find will only lead to ruin”

It is expected that when an electric gadget is made it should come with a manual from its manufacturing company. The creator of the device knows what purpose it is meant to serve and its functionality. The manual will talk about the materials put together to make it, what to do and not to do with it and how to use it. The gadget cannot be more than what it was made for. An electric kettle can’t serve the function of an electric iron.
Lara bought an electric fruit juicer. She didn’t see any need to read the manual. For many weeks, she juiced oranges, pineapples, apples, cucumbers and watermelon. Then came the season for sugarcane. She thought to herself, it will be nice to juice the sugarcane too with the electric juicer.
Alas, how wrong she was. The sugarcane stuck in the juicer and all efforts to reverse the error was abortive. Then she remembered the manual. Reading it, there clearly stated was ‘avoid juicing sugarcane and nuts!’ But then the error had been made and the juicer had been condemned.
Likewise, no one can be a Christian outside of what the Bible defines it. Moreso, a woman who has chosen to follow Jesus as her Lord and Saviour can’t be the woman who wholeheartedly follows the Lord and lives to please Him outside the boundaries of the Word of God. The realities and truth of womanhood are not outside the Bible.
To be a woman as intended by the Creator who made the woman, she must align with what the Word of God has clearly and literally defined. The identity of a woman is within the jurisdiction of Who made her, why she was made, what purpose she should serve, and what is unique to her.
Should a woman refuse what the Bible spells out as her identity, she is called vulnerable as in 2 Timothy 3:6, ‘…who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires’.
To not revert to the Bible to define our identity is to be ladened with a load of iniquities because we contravene God’s desires and will for us and we have no part in the Spirit-led life. Christianity is all about the Spirit-led life!
Find a woman who says the Bible doesn’t matter for instruction and you will see a woman who Proverbs defines as wayward. She is adulterous, seductive, unruly, defiant, never stays at home, and the end of her path is death (Prov. 2:16-22; 7:5, 11-12).
What then is required? The humility to accept who defines what she was made to be, because, sis, the issue has never been capacity. The issue is authority. A woman does not discover her identity by stretching beyond God’s design, but by submitting to God’s definition. The Bible is not a suggestion for womanhood. It is the manual given by the Creator Himself. Outside of it, womanhood loses its meaning and becomes vulnerable to endless redefinition.
The Bible is not a suggestion for womanhood. It is the manual given by the Creator Himself. Outside of it, womanhood loses its meaning and becomes vulnerable to endless redefinition.
When a woman refuses the Bible as the final authority over her identity, she does not become free. She becomes exposed. She is left to be shaped by culture, institutions, ideologies, and desires that do not know her Maker and therefore cannot preserve her.
True womanhood is not discovered by asking the world what a woman can be, but by returning to the Scriptures to learn who God says she is. The Bible defines womanhood because God defines womanhood.
Do not be deceived. The Scriptures say charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but the woman who fears God will be praised. (Proverbs 31:30).

Let Us Pray
Dear Father, we recognise that there is no life outside of You. The truth is that as women, we are often enticed by many ideologies that tend to keep our hearts focused on all else but Your Truth, Your Word is Truth. As we go in this month of March, help us to understand more in the light of Your Word what it means to align ourselves with Your Word. Let hunger and thirst for Your Word spring up from within us that we may be Spirit-led women who honour You and fear You. Thank You Father, in Jesus name, Amen!

Thank you for sharing, ma’am.
This part of the article stood out to me :
“When a woman refuses the Bible as the final authority over her identity, she does not become free. She becomes exposed. She is left to be shaped by culture, institutions, ideologies, and desires that do not know her Maker and therefore cannot preserve her.”
This is so true!
A woman must shut out the noise of the world, sit with scriptures under the influence of the Holy Spirit till she comes to understand who she is as spelt out in Scriptures. She also need to keep going back to Scriptures to remain anchored in it truth till she breath her last breath. No retreat! No surrender! Help me Lord. Amen!
