Daily Bread, Not A Relic!

Echoes of Truth

Date: 15th April, 2026
Theme: For the Faith Once Delivered
Topic: Daily Bread, Not A Relic!
Text: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
Goal: Can you renew, repair, adjust your relationship with your Bible in the next few days, dear sister?

A sign you do love the Bible is:

“You do not let it gather dust, for you know a dusty Bible means a starving soul. You eat it daily, and it has become sweeter than honeycomb, richer than wine, stronger than fire to and in you.”

Daily Bread, Not A Relic!

Dear sister, what is the state of your Bible? Is it dusty? I mean, literally dusty, untouched for days?

ECHOES OF TRUTH

Or perhaps it is too neat, too well-packaged, sitting like a relic on your shelf, more like a decoration?

Has it become an adornment, a symbol of faith, rather than a place of dining, of living, of revelation?

A sign you truly love the Bible is seen in how close you keep it to your daily life.

It is not something you leave untouched for even a day.

You reach for it often, the same way a hungry person reaches for food.

Deep inside, you understand that when the Word is neglected, something in your soul begins to grow weak.

Just as the body cannot function without food, your spirit cannot stay alive and strong without the Word of God.

So you do not treat it like a book you visit occasionally. You “eat” it. You take it in little by little, day by day.

You read it, you think about it, you hold onto it.

And over time, what once felt like a discipline begins to feel like a desire. You start to enjoy it. It becomes sweet to you.

The Scriptures say in Psalm 119:103,

“How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”

You begin to experience that for yourself.

It also becomes rich to you. They aren’t empty words or dry reading, but something that fills you, strengthens you, and satisfies you.

Like a good meal that leaves you full, the Word begins to settle your heart and give you direction.

And beyond that, it becomes like fire inside you.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 20:9,

“…his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones…”

It stirs you. It convicts you. It pushes you to act. It will not let you stay the same.

This generation is starving for truth, but hey, the feast is already set before us. What foolishness would it be that we died of hunger while having enough food before us?

Yet too often we leave it untouched, while our souls grow weak. The Bible is not meant to be polished and left on the shelf. It is meant to be broken like bread, tasted like honey, burning like fire inside you.

So, dear sister, take the Bible in your hands. Break it open. Eat it. Let it fill you. Let it become part of you. Without it, you starve. With it, you live.

Reflection

Dear sister, can you renew, repair, adjust your relationship with your Bible in the next few days? Can you move from dust to daily bread, from relic to revelation, from decoration to destination? The faith once delivered is still alive, still pure, still powerful; but it must be eaten daily!

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for every day I have starved my soul by neglecting Your Word. In this generation where so much is going wrong, let me be anchored in what is eternal. Kindle in me a hunger that no distraction can satisfy. Let Your Word be sweeter than honey, stronger than fire, and nearer than breath. Make me a woman of the Word, not just a woman with a Bible. Amen.
