PONDER ON OUR TEXT:
LUKE 1:35: And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
The Impossible Assignment
Sisters, think of the young girl, Mary.
She was a simple, ordinary virgin. Then, she was presented with an impossible assignment: to carry the Son of God. She looked at her own state, her own capacity, her own natural human boundaries, and she asked the question that every woman eventually asks when she sees the standard of God’s Word: “How? How can this be?”
How can a girl carry the King of Glory? How can she walk a path that defies nature? How can something so supernatural happen in a fragile vessel like her?
If you are honest, that is the same question you ask when you look at the life of Biblical Womanhood. You see the demand for holiness, the call to submission, the charge to build a home, and the requirement to serve God with every fiber of your being. You look at your own flaws, your own temper, your own past, and your own limitations, and you scream, “Lord, this is impossible! How can I be this woman?”

The Answer is the Overshadowing of the Holy Spirit!
The Angel did not tell Mary to “try harder.” He did not tell her to “prepare herself” through her own strength. He gave her the only secret to the impossible: “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee.”
That is our answer, too! It isn’t you who will do it. You do not have the power to live a life that pleases God on your own. But the Holy Spirit is the One who changes your form.
-
He will come upon you! Where you were once weak, His presence will rest.
-
He will overshadow you! He will block out the influence of the world and the noise of the flesh.
-
He will occupy you! He will take up residence in the spaces of your heart that you have been trying to manage by yourself.
-
He will fill you! He will pour Himself into you until your human nature is consumed by His Divine Nature.
And then? A holy thing will be formed in you! Halleluyah!!!
Your conduct will change. Your words will change. Your home will be transformed. You will no longer produce the fruit of the flesh; you will produce the fruit of the Spirit.
Today, we are coming to Him to move from the natural to the supernatural. Our prayer is simple: Holy Spirit, overshadow me!. Overshadow my spirit! Change my form!
The Holy Spirit and Biblical Womanhood
The journey of biblical womanhood is one that no one can afford to embark on without divine enablement. Imagine a vehicle without fuel; can it work? Can it even move an inch? The answer is NO.
As fuel is to a vehicle, so is the Holy Spirit to a Christian woman. Without the Holy Spirit, she is empty, without instruction, without insight, powerless, and fruitless.
The sad thing is that she is not the only one who will feel the heat of this; her home will suffer it, her children will have a share of it, and her husband will feel it, too.
Her neighbors and family will not escape the consequences of the absence of the Holy Spirit in her life. Because whatever she carries, she has the inbuilt ability to transfer and share it around.
When she is empty, she spreads that emptiness around her like fire; when she is without insight, her children and home will be thrown into confusion.
Our Text: John 14:26
Let us look at our text:
“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” (AMP)
Service Unto the Lord
Christianity and biblical womanhood are simply not doable without the Holy Spirit. As we have been learning, all we do as women should be seen as service unto the Lord; not to our husbands, children, or whoever the recipient is.
If these services are to be acceptable; if they are to count in eternity as the main things we have used our lives to pursue; they must be done with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Anything you can do without God’s help has no eternal value.
This is because anything done without the Holy Spirit is definitely from the flesh, and we know that it is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.
The flesh has nothing meaningful, nothing eternal to offer, and that is why it must die in the life of a biblical woman!
She has been crucified with Christ; it is no longer she who lives, but Christ who lives in her. The life which she now lives in the flesh, she lives by faith in the Son of God, and she lives strictly by instruction from her Counselor (the Holy Spirit).
Remember:
-
Submission that will have eternal value must be done with the help of the Holy Spirit.
-
Parenting that will yield eternal dividends must be supervised by the Holy Spirit.
-
Home building that will produce generational and eternal results must be done with the Holy Spirit in her.
The Holy Spirit as Her Comforter
How does the Holy Spirit comfort you, dear Biblical woman?
In a world that opposes the biblical path, you will often find yourself isolated, ridiculed, or misunderstood. Human comfort will often encourage you to “tone it down” or “compromise to keep the peace.” The Holy Spirit does the opposite.
He comforts you by validating your standing with God. He infuses your spirit with the assurance that your obedience is not in vain, turning your rejection by the world into a badge of honor for the Kingdom.
Also, He comforts your fatigue! Oh! Sweet Holy Spirit!
You see, the life of a biblical woman: building a home, raising children in the fear of the Lord, and maintaining your personal walk, is definitely not for the faint of heart. There will be days when the “midnight cry” feels too far off and your strength is spent. The Holy Spirit’s comfort is the resuscitation of your joy. He does not just tell you “it will be okay”; He pours the life of God back into your exhausted spirit so you can keep going.
The Holy Spirit as Her Counselor
The best counselor a biblical woman can ever have is the Holy Spirit. Oh, what a wonderful, accurate, and always-available Counselor He is! He will never lead you astray. See what the Scripture says:
“I hear the Lord saying, ‘I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!’” (Psalm 32:8, NLT)
This is both a promise and an instruction from God. The Holy Spirit is the only One who can rightly teach and guide us in this path of biblical womanhood that we have chosen. It is a narrow path, and only those with Him can follow through to the end.
A word of caution from the verse above: Do not make it difficult. Do not be stubborn when He takes you where you have not been before. When He is teaching you a hard truth; one you have never heard from a pulpit before; do not be stubborn. Just obey me, if you love Me!
Do not be like the disciples in John 6:60, who said, “This is very hard to understand. How can anyone accept it?” and subsequently turned away and deserted Him. I pray we will not turn back in Jesus’ name.
We have laid our hands on the plough; we will not look back!
It may be a hard saying, it may be difficult to obey, but take it to God in prayer. Ask the Saviour to help you, comfort, strengthen, and keep you. He is willing to aid you; He will carry you through.

The Holy Spirit as Her Helper
Dear sisters, the best helper you can engage is the Holy Spirit. More than any machinery, more than any human aid, He is there to help you. The work is truly enormous, but when you invite Him and discuss your concerns and agitations with Him, rather than becoming bitter or complaining, you will see how He simplifies the work. You will see how He provides strength for the task, making it feel as if you’ve never been burdened at all.
The Holy Spirit is right there inside of you; He is not someone “up there” whom you cannot reach. If you are yet to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, I pray that today will be the day of encounter you have been expecting.
Not only does He help us with the work, but the Holy Spirit helps us to know and love God as we ought to. As it is written: “And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” (Romans 5:5, NLT)
Without the Holy Spirit constantly pouring His love into your heart, it will fade, and something else will take its place. When we love God as we ought, loving and submitting to our husbands becomes easy, loving our children flows freely, and we will embrace who God has called us to be, aligning ourselves with His purpose without struggling.
The Holy Spirit is Her Intercessor
A biblical woman is not just a woman who “says prayers”; she is a woman who lives in the realm of intercession. She understands that her power does not lie in the eloquence of her human speech, but in the partnership she maintains with the Holy Spirit.
When we rely on our own words, we often pray from the surface: from our frustrations, our limitations, and our limited view of the problem. But the Holy Spirit is the Intercessor who takes us into the “Secret Place,” where the surface fades away and we begin to pray from the Heart of the Father.
When the burden is so heavy you cannot articulate it, He is there. He takes your “sighs” and your “groanings”; which are too deep for human language—and translates them into the perfect will of God.
When you invite the Holy Spirit to intercede, you stop being a woman who is merely “complaining to God about her problems” and you become a woman who is “partnering with God to solve them.” He gives you the unction, that is, the spiritual weight, to pray until the atmosphere shifts.
-
1 Corinthians 14:2 tells us that when we speak in tongues, we speak mysteries. This is the “secret language” of the Biblical woman.
-
Praying in the Spirit is the way we “charge our batteries.” It is how we refuel the Extra Oil. It bypasses our limited understanding and allows the Holy Spirit to edify our inner man (1 Corinthians 14:4).
Sisters, do not settle for a prayer life that is only for public consumption. Do not be like the foolish virgins who only knew how to pray when the light was on. Learn to pray in the dark. Learn to groan in the Secret Place. When you become a woman of true intercession, you will find that you are no longer shaken by the crises of life, because you have already fought the battle on your knees in the realm of the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is Her Advocate
A biblical woman does not have any “rights” to fight for in the worldly sense, because her identity, her inheritance, and her eternal portion are safely secured in Christ Jesus. When the world tries to provoke her, or when the challenges of home life arise, she does not resort to the weapons of the flesh. She does not fight, she does not manipulate, and she does not employ the tactics of the world to win an argument.
Instead, she engages her Advocate!
In the legal sense, an advocate is someone who stands in the courtroom to speak on behalf of another. When you have the Holy Spirit as your Advocate, you are never without representation. Here is how this changes the way you live:
Before she ever tries to address a conflict with her husband, a rebellious child, or a difficult circumstance, she goes first to the Father. She presents her case in the Secret Place.
-
She doesn’t scream or shout to get her way; she goes to the One who can touch the hearts of men.
-
She pours out her heart to the Advocate, giving Him the details of the situation, the hurt, and the confusion.
Once you have presented your case to the Father, you must learn to “step out of the way” and let the Advocate take over. This is where many women fail. They present the case, but then they keep fighting in the flesh.
The Advocate is the One who knows exactly how to speak to the conscience of a man; He knows exactly how to convict the heart of a child; He knows exactly how to align people with the will of God in ways your human persuasion never could.
Sisters, stop acting like you are alone in your battles. If you are constantly exhausted from fighting, it is because you are doing the work of the Advocate yourself. Step back. Go to the Secret Place. Present your case to the Father and let the Holy Spirit do the heavy lifting. He is the best legal counsel you will ever have. He knows the heart of the Father, and He knows exactly how to bring your situation into alignment with His Kingdom. Relax!
The Holy Spirit is Her Strengthener
“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV)
Because His strength is made perfect in our weakness, He expects us to acknowledge our inability. He expects us to present ourselves just as we are: empty, weak, unable, and unworthy vessels; so that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
Jesus Christ said in John 6:65: “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”
No one can do biblical womanhood unless the strength has been given from above. Hence, do not run this race without Him, so you will not burn out. Amen!
The Holy Spirit is Her Standby
When the going gets tough, the Holy Spirit is there to hold her hand. He is ever-present and always available. When opposition arises in society, He stands by your side as you journey through this path you have chosen. With the Holy Spirit as your Standby, you will have the courage to earnestly contend for the truth once delivered to the saints.
Remember the Apostles; they lacked the courage to preach the Gospel until they had the Holy Spirit.
-
Do you lack the courage to publicly declare what you stand for?
-
Do you lack the confidence to preach the gospel of Christ?
If so, it is because the power of the Holy Ghost has not yet come upon you. I pray that today, there will be a change of story in Jesus’ name!
Before we proceed, let’s take this hymn.
I Need Thee Every Hour
I need Thee every hour,
most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
can peace Afford.
Refrain:
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour,
stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power
when Thou art nigh.
I need Thee every hour,
in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
or life is in vain.
I need Thee every hour;
teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises
in me fulfill.
I need Thee every hour,
most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.
Pause to Pray
Can you take some time to pray to God this minute? Tell Him how much you need Him in your life, in your home. Tell Him how much you need His help, His counsel in your endeavors. Confess to Him that on your own, you’re unable to journey in this path. Ask Him to help you, help you to yield to Him completely, help you to surrender all of you to His word, help Him to stop struggling with His word.
In Jesus name we have prayed. Amen.

The Hidden Potential
We have discussed the roles of the Holy Spirit. Sisters, understand this: All of these: His comfort, His counsel, His advocacy, His strength are hidden in Him as “Potential Energy.”
They are available, they are resident within you, but they are not automatic!!!
You cannot treat the Holy Spirit like a reserve battery that only kicks in when the power goes out.
You cannot be satisfied with the fact that you speak in tongues, that you serve in the church, or that you have a “title” in the ministry.
The question is not “Do you have the Spirit?” The question is “Do you have substance in the Secret Place?”
The Trap of the ‘Burning Lamp’
Many of us desire to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, but we must search our hearts: Why? * Do you want the Holy Spirit just to have the “sign” of speaking in tongues?
-
Do you want Him just so you can be seen as “spiritual” in the church?
-
Or do you actually want to spend Him?
If you are not ready to spend time with Him in deep, agonizing, beautiful Koinonia (intimacy), then you are essentially trying to have the Holy Spirit as a passenger in your boat while you still run the vessel. You are keeping your hands on the wheel, making the decisions, running your home your way, and only turning to Him when the storm gets too high. That is not a partnership; that is a facade.
The five foolish virgins were not “un-saved.” They had lamps. They had the appearance of those who were ready. But their failure was a failure of substance!
They had enough oil for the start, but they had no Extra Oil for the wait.
-
The foolish virgins are the sisters who are satisfied with the “surface.” They are satisfied with the activity of Christianity.
-
The wise virgins are the sisters who understand that Koinonia is the substance. They didn’t just have the lamp; they had a vessel; a reservoir of intimacy that they had spent hours, days, and years filling in the Secret Place. Ayaaaa
Are You Running the Boat?
Do you have Him in your boat just to ensure you don’t sink, while you continue to navigate the currents of your marriage, your parenting, and your emotions based on your own human reasoning?
The Extra Oil is the surrender of the helm. It is the moment you stop “running” your life and start “yielding” to the Holy Ghost. It is the transition from:
-
I am serving Him (The surface)
-
To: He is living through me (The substance).
Sisters, do not be like the foolish virgins who were shocked at the midnight hour. Do not wait for the crisis to realize your vessel is dry.
Today is the day to decide. Are you just seeking a “move” of the Spirit? Or are you seeking the Person of the Spirit? Stop settling for the signs. Stop settling for the service. Go to the Secret Place. Cultivate the Koinonia. That is where the Extra Oil is found. That is where the life that cannot be shaken is built.
How to Receive the Holy Spirit
Sisters, receiving the Holy Spirit is not about performing a ritual, earning a reward, or following a complex formula. It is about a relationship. It is the Father giving His greatest Gift to His children because He loves them.
If you are hungry for the Holy Spirit; if you are ready to stop “running your own boat” and start living in the power of His presence; here is how you move into that encounter.
1. The Foundation: Repentance and Faith
You cannot possess the Spirit of Christ if you do not belong to Christ. Receiving the Holy Spirit begins with a sincere heart that has turned away from its own way of doing things (sin/self-rule) and turned toward the Lord.
Acts 2:38 says: “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Be honest with God. Acknowledge that you have been running your own life and that you are tired of the facade.
2. Ask with Childlike Faith
The Holy Spirit is a Gift, and Jesus promised that the Father is eager to give this Gift to those who ask. You do not have to beg; you simply have to ask.
Luke 11:13: “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Stop, breathe, and simply talk to Him. Tell Him, “Father, I am Your child. I am hungry for Your Spirit. I ask You to fill me, baptize me, and immerse me in Your presence.”
3. Empty the Vessel (Surrender)
You cannot be filled if you are already full. The “Extra Oil” cannot pour into a vessel that is cluttered with pride, hidden sins, or the desire to keep control of your life.
Identify the areas where you are still “Captain of your own boat.” Where are you unwilling to yield? Bring those areas to Him and say, “Lord, I am emptying myself of my plans, my stubbornness, and my self-will. Make room for You.”
4. Believe and Receive
Faith is the hand that receives what Grace has already provided!
When you pray, do not look for a “feeling” as the proof; look to the Word of God as the evidence.
He said He would give Him to you. Therefore, when you ask, believe that He has indeed come to dwell within you.
Start thanking Him. Don’t wait for a dramatic manifestation; just begin to walk in the reality that the Counselor, the Advocate, and the Helper is now residing inside you.
5. Release Yourself to the Holy Spirit. Fret Not! Doubt Not!
Based on the pattern in the Book of Acts, we see that speaking in tongues is a frequent, biblical, and powerful occurrence when one is baptized in the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, believers get stuck here because they are waiting for the Holy Spirit to “take over” their vocal cords and force them to speak. But the Holy Spirit is a Gentleman; He does not force. He provides the language; you provide the voice. When you are filled, He will give you the unction: a bubbling up, a desire to speak, or a sensation in your spirit. When that happens, you must step out in faith and release the sounds that He gives you, even if they don’t make sense to your human mind.
But hey, sis! Do not be so focused on the sign that you miss the Person!
If you do not immediately speak in tongues the moment you pray, do not be discouraged or condemn yourself. Sometimes, the Holy Spirit fills a vessel with peace, with power, and with a fresh love for God first.
If you are expectant, stay in that place of surrender. Worship Him, praise Him, and keep yielding your tongue to Him. Often, the language begins to flow when you stop trying to “think” and simply start “worshipping.”
6. Start the Koinonia
This is the most important step. Many people receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and then neglect the relationship. Do not make that mistake.
The moment you receive Him, start talking to Him. Do not treat Him as a guest; treat Him as your Lord and King.
This is the secret to true intimacy. Ask Him about the small things. Ask Him, “Lord, what would You have me do today?” Ask Him what to wear, what to eat, where to go, and what to listen to.
It may sound simple, but when you consult Him on the “small” things, you are training your spirit to listen to Him for the “big” things. You are building a habit of dependency.
A Prayer to Receive the Holy Spirit
“Father, I come to You today as Your daughter. I acknowledge that I am nothing without You, and I am weary of living my life on my own strength. You promised in Your Word that You would give the Holy Spirit to those who ask. Right now, I am asking. I am hungry for more than a title; I am hungry for Your Substance. I repent for my stubbornness and for the times I have kept You as a passenger in my boat. I surrender the helm to You. Come, Holy Spirit! Fill my vessel, baptize me with Your power, and teach me the way of Koinonia. I receive Your presence by faith, and I commit to walking with You, listening to You, and dwelling with You from this day forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Let’s pray this hymn as we prepare to pray
LET THE FIRE FALL
They were gathered in an upper chamber,
as commanded by the risen Lord,
and the promise of the Father
there they sought with one accord,
when the Holy Ghost from heaven descended
like a rushing wind and tongues of fire:
so dear Lord, we seek Thy blessing,
come with glory now our hearts inspire.
Chorus:
Let the fire fall, let the fire fall,
let the fire from heaven fall;
we are waiting and expecting,
now in faith, dear Lord, we call;
let the fire fall, let the fire fall,
on Thy promise we depend;
from the glory of Thy presence
let the Pentecostal fire descend.
As Elijah we would raise the altar for our testimony clear and true,
Christ the Saviour, loving Healer,
coming Lord, Baptizer too,
ever flowing grace and full salvation,
for a ruined race Thy love has planned;
for this blessed revelation,
for Thy written word we dare to stand.
‘This the covenanted promise given
to as many as the Lord shall call,
to the fathers and their children,
to Thy people, one and all;
so rejoicing in Thy word unfailing,
we draw nigh in faith Thy power to know –
come, O come, Thou burning Spirit,
set our hearts with heavenly fire aglow.
With a living coal from off Thy altar
touch our lips to swell Thy wondrous praise,
to extol Thee, bless, adore Thee,
and our songs of worship raise;
let the cloud of glory now descending
fill our hearts with holy ecstasy,
come in all Thy glorious fullness,
blessed Holy Spirit, have Thy way

LET’S PRAY
Close your eyes at this moment and begin to appreciate the Name of God for His faithfulness and for His mercy that endures forever. He has been gracious to you and to me by not hiding the truth from us, even when it is fading away from the modern pulpit. Thank Him for the revelation of His truth.
Thank Him for the gift of The BUD Family Africa. Thank Him for the President, Mrs. Yaks; appreciate the grace of God upon her life, the strength of God in her, and thank Him for making her a voice of truth in this generation; a true remnant of God in this perverse time.
Thank God for every member of The BUD Family Africa, declaring that the Lord will make us obedient children and the salt of the earth indeed. Thank God because today is going to be a remarkable day in the life of everyone here.
Now, commit yourself into the hands of God, asking that the Lord will visit you specifically today. Ask that the Lord will take over you and your entire environment at this moment. Bring everything around you into the obedience of Christ; ask that every circumstance will align to make you a partaker of all that the Lord is doing right now.
If you are here and you are not yet sure of your salvation, this is your moment to set things right with God, for without this foundation, you cannot be qualified for the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Therefore, present yourself before God this day just as you are. Confess your sins before Him and ask for His mercy. Ask that the Lord will forgive you and grant you the grace to “go and sin no more.”
Seek divine enablement to live above self, and ask for the grace to say “no” to the desires and dictates of the flesh. Ask that the Lord will help you to please Him at all times, that you will prioritize a good conscience before God above everything: above friendships, above relationships, and above any earthly pursuit. Pray that nothing and no one will be more important than God in your life.
Finally, thank God because you have been forgiven. Appreciate Him, knowing that you are now a new person.
In Jesus’ Name we have prayed. Amen.

I want to experience Your power; I want to experience Your very presence.”
Please note: James 1:6–7 says, “But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” (NLT).
Close your eyes and cry like a hungry daughter before her Father. Let this song run at the background, lay your hands on your chest and ask Your Father. ‘Activate this spirit! Oh, let life burst out in me! Come Holy Spirit!’
In Jesus’ name, we have prayed. Amen!

Pray for the churches in Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, and Equatorial Guinea, that the Lord will revive His churches in these nations and keep the world from finding its way into them.
-
Pray that the Lord will keep sanctity in these churches, that they will know and stand on the truth, and that the Lord will flush out every voice speaking or teaching things contrary to the Scripture.
-
Pray that the gates of hell, deception, sin, and compromise will not prevail against these churches, and that they will uphold the teachings of repentance, discipleship, and holiness, while fully embracing the power and workings of the Holy Spirit.
-
Pray that God will raise godly women across these nations; women who fear the Lord and desire to do His will in all situations and at all costs.
-
Pray that across these nations, God will raise women who will raise godly children; holy seeds set apart for God; and that these women will be delivered from ideologies that war against God’s order.
-
Pray that women in these nations will see themselves in the light of God’s Word, appreciate and accept who God has made and called them to be, and joyfully abide in this calling.
-
Pray that women in these nations will not be swallowed up by feminism that resists the truth, that they will honor marriage, and that they will see motherhood as stewardship unto the Lord.
-
Pray that homes in these nations will begin to operate according to God’s order.
-
Pray that the governance and leadership in these nations come under God’s control, that only men who fear and love the Lord, who understand the mind of God for His people, will be appointed into positions of authority.
-
Pray that leaders in these nations will be preserved from corruption, compromise, and an unhealthy love for money, power, and popularity, and that leadership will favor righteousness, justice, and the preservation of godly values.
-
Pray that the Lord will deliver these leaders from selfishness and that God’s kingdom will be established in these nations.
-
Pray that the light of God will spread unhindered across these nations, that there will be a mighty revelation of the glory of God, and that every heart will genuinely turn to the Lord.
-
Pray that the will of God be done in these nations just as it is done in heaven, and that these nations be filled with the fear of the Lord, making the fear of God the guiding principle of every affair.
-
By extension, pray for Nigeria, that God will heal the land and that nothing will be able to put out the light of God in this nation.
-
Pray that Christianity will not go into extinction in Nigeria, no matter how much the enemy tries, and that the Lord will revive the churches there with unity and oneness among us.
-
Pray that the Lord will deliver as many as are in the dens of kidnappers, setting them free unharmed, and that the Lord will bring succour to as many families that are mourning as a result of evil acts.
-
Pray that the Lord will reveal Himself to our leaders in Nigeria and cause them to walk in His counsels.
OH, THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD
Download ‘Oh the Presence of the Lord’ here
(Verse 1)
In the days of old, before the Spirit came to dwell in man
You sought to live among Your people
You came too close
Fire on the mountain
Glory in the cloud
But they drew back
They were afraid
They said, “Do not speak to us, lest we die”
Yet one man dared
Moses drew near
He stayed where You were
Forty days, forty nights
No bread, no water
Satisfied by Your voice
He spoke with You as a friend
He stood between wrath and mercy
He negotiated destinies
He carried nations in his prayers
And when he came down
Even his body had changed
His face burned with light
He was never the same again
(Chorus)
Oh, the presence of the Lord
Oh, the presence of the Lord
The God who dwells within
Help me to stay in Your presence
Help me to stay in Your presence
Deal with the flesh that fights my calling
Give me grace to stay with You
Until I am glorified in Your presence
Oh, the presence of the Lord
Oh, the presence of the Lord
(Verse 2)
Aaron’s rod lay before You
Dead wood in a holy place
No effort, no striving
Just staying
And it budded
And it blossomed
And it bore fruit
Arguments were silenced
Authority was settled
Life answered to presence
If dead things respond to Your nearness
What excuse does my life have
To remain barren
When I can stay where You are
(Verse 3)
I am more blessed than those of old
The veil is torn
The Spirit lives in me
Why should I live beneath shadows
When the substance dwells within
Why should I tremble at a distance
When You have made me Your dwelling place
Father, pull me closer
Let every distraction fall away
Let hunger swallow convenience
Let desire consume fear
I refuse a lesser walk
I refuse a borrowed fire
I refuse a distant God
When You have come this near
(Verse 4)
Now I lay me down, a living offering
My life upon Your altar, wholly Yours
I do not come and go
I do not touch and turn away
I stay
Let my days speak devotion
Let my obedience burn
Let my life answer Your nearness
Until nothing in me resists You
Let my staying speak
Let my presence carry weight
Let my life be evidence
That men can walk with God
Not rushing out
Not drawing back
Not negotiating devotion
I am not visiting this fire
I am consumed by it
I remain
(Bridge)
Pull me past comfort
Pull me past fear
Pull me past myself
Let presence be my portion
Let glory be my language
Let staying be my obedience
(Final Chorus)
Oh, the presence of the Lord
Oh, the presence of the Lord
The God who dwells within
Help me to stay in Your presence
Help me to stay in Your presence
Deal with the flesh that fights my calling
Give me grace to stay with You
Until I am glorified in Your presence

Abba, I cannot do this on my own. I need you today, tomorrow and all the days of my life. My life is empty without your Spirit. I empty myself before You. I give up the right to myself. Take over, Lord.
Let Your Kingdom come in me
Be my King and I will be Your subject. Fill and baptize me with Your Spirit. Lead me, Sweet Holy Spirit.
Give me the grace to stay forever in Your Presence.
Amen.
I surrender Lord!
Sweet Holy Spirit 🥺🥺. I surrender all You 😭😭. Let me never get enough of You 🙏🏼
HOLY SPIRIT, set me apart by FIRE, I need You cause without You I am nothing 🙇🙏
