JUNE 1ST: LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP!

Wow!!! It is that time of the year again! The countdown to Juicy July 2026 has officially begun!

 

What started as a lone tree has become a mighty forest. What started as a well of living water has become rivers of living waters, flowing far and wide beyond anyone’s imagination.

 

What probably felt like a religious activity to some has become the gateway to knocking on heaven’s doors and in all truth and sincerity, heaven has been responding. 

 

To many prayers, answers have been received and to others, the much needed comfort came. Some have testified to have received breakthroughs and having their bondages shattered. The courage to have confronted the enemy that has refused to let go came and victories were won, territories were conquered, healings were permanent, babies have been flooding in… Just so much to recount and testify to.

 

All is to the glory of the One who Was, who Is, and forever will Be!

 

Before moving on, read this story carefully. 

 

Launch Out into the Deep

Dorcas stared at the rejection letter in her email. She was afraid to open it. From the heading of the email, she already knew her proposal was not selected for the twenty thousand dollar grant. She held her face in her palms. Her palms were sweaty. She was so sure about this application. In fact, she believed the idea was Rhema when she received it. It would change the face of agriculture in her country… If only she had funds. 

 

She summoned courage and clicked the email and she was right. Her application was rejected. It was the usual rejection template. There were too many applications, hers was no less valuable but… The tears she was holding in began to spill voluntarily. She did not know when she began to wail. She had high hopes for this one but she was by-passed. 

 

After she had cried to her heart’s content, she carefully read through the mail. Then she noticed something. The grant’s organisers had attached a pdf of their vetting of her application and why she was not selected.

 

‘Wow!! That’s a first’. Dorcas said out loud. She eagerly opened the attached document because the email had encouraged her to re-apply the coming year.

 

The document highlighted three major flaws in her application which led to her disqualification.

 

One, the idea was novel and original but its presentation played safe and lacked the confidence that it could actually work.

 

Second, her budget reflected that it was going to contract eighty-five percent of the work to others and she would only supervise them making fifteen percent as her sole input in the project.

 

Third, she had no intention of testing her proposed theory in geographical zones that truly needed the findings of her research. 

 

Dorcas read it all and she knew it was all true. She had truly been read like a book. She believed the Holy Spirit dropped the idea in her heart but she was skeptical about proposing it to the world that truly needed it. She knew exactly what to do and she was ready to do it.

 

She had to launch into the deep!

 

Dorcas’ story reminds of Jesus’ encounter with Peter and his colleagues in the fishing boat. They had toiled all night but had nothing to show for it. They had no confidence to yield to Jesus’ instructions because they knew that with their expertise, they had caught nothing!

 

The Man before them was only a Carpenter and a Rabbi. What could He possibly know about fishing? 

 

That’s where this countdown to Juicy July must start from!

 

This year 2026, it should not be business as usual for you again. It should not be another season where the same methods, played out from your comfort zone, from your self-dependence, your ignorance, will be applied again this year. 

 

Perhaps the reason why you have not been receiving heaven’s showers and responses to your requests is because you are applying the spiritual methodology you have always applied all your life to walking with the Lord. 

 

If anything will change this Juicy July, it must begin from your heart made up to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, telling you what to do, the same thing that was told Peter:

 

‘Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch’ (Luke 5:4). 

 

Jesus told the fishing crew to move out, away from the shallow part of the sea for they will not find anything there for themselves nor for others!

 

The command was simple, go to the deep water AND let down your nets FOR a catch.

 

Sometimes the issue might not be moving further out but actually yielding in obedience to let go of whatever we are holding on to. It is about resisting the urge to do things the way we know how to do it but allowing ourselves to yield to the Holy Spirit showing us how to do it.

The Bible makes us understand that we do not know how we should pray or get answers from God’s Presence because we don’t know the mind of God. But, the Holy Spirit does! He knows the exact depth we should launch into and the best way to get a catch. If we let Him, He will certainly make the right intercessions and petitions on our behalf before God. 

 

The reward is like Peter and his crew. We will have such a bountiful catch that they would begin to break our nets and have no space to contain the glory that comes with that!

It starts with a humble submission to the Lord, acknowledging past mistakes, failed efforts, trials and errors, dependence on intellect, connections, experience, and a religious approach to the Life-giving Word of God. It is a bold declaration before the Lord that His way, His will, His plans, His directions, His prayer prompts, His guidance, His Word, His countenance was all that mattered. 

 

This month of June, on Echoes of Truth, in getting our hearts set on what God intends to do amongst us in July, we will be realigning ourself, stepping out of our comfort zones, and be ready to obey, saying, ‘Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets’ (Luke 5:5).

 

We must never think we have gotten all that there is in God. Neither should we think there are no new experiences left in God. It is only those who are willing to move out to the deep and let down their nets for a catch that will experience new depths in God! And the Holy Spirit is the One who makes the difference. He is the One who plunges us deeper and deeper in the depths of the rivers of Living Waters!
