Theme: For the Faith Once Delivered
Topic: Weigh Every Voice by Scripture!
Text: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…” (1 John 4:1)
A sign you do love the Bible is:
“You do not blindly accept every pulpit voice. You ask: is this the faith once delivered to the saints, or has it been ‘upgraded’, downgraded, diluted? You measure every sermon against the eternal Word, refusing to trade revelation for revision.”

Weigh Every Voice by Scripture!
Dear sister, when a person truly loves the Word of God, they stop swallowing everything they hear!
It does not matter how anointed it sounds.
It does not matter how popular the preacher is.
It does not matter how many people are saying “amen.”
They have learned to check!!
The Bible shows us this clearly in Acts 17:11:
“they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
These were the Berean christians. They had listened to Paul, the apostle. Oh, yes, Paul!
They did not reject preaching. They received it gladly. But they did not stop there. They went back to the Scriptures to confirm it.
That is the balance.
You listen with an open heart, but you confirm with an open Bible.
Why does this matter so much?
Because not every voice that mentions God is speaking from God!!!
The Scriptures warn us in Matthew 24:24:
“For there shall arise false christs, and false prophets… insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
That means even serious believers can be carried away if they are not grounded in the Word.
So what does a woman who loves the Bible do?
She listens, but she also asks,
Is this truly written?
Does this agree with the whole counsel of Scripture?
When she hears something new, she does not rush to accept it. She goes back to the Word.
She opens her Bible.
She reads in context.
She compares Scripture with Scripture.
Because she understands what the Bible says in Jude 1:3:
“…the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
The original faith!
Delivered once and for all!
Not updated. Not improved. Not adjusted to fit every new generation.
So when teachings begin to shift, when truth is softened to make it easier to accept, something inside her refuses it.
Not out of pride.
Not out of stubbornness.
But out of love for the truth.
She has seen what happens when people stop checking.
She knows if it is not watched, slowly, little by little, truth is replaced.
Sin is renamed.
Holiness is reduced.
Conviction becomes optional.
And before long, people are holding something that sounds like the Bible, but is no longer the Bible.
This is why she stays careful.
She measures every sermon against what is written. If it aligns, she receives it. If it does not, she leaves it, no matter how beautiful it sounds.
Because she knows that:
it is safer to stay with what God has already said than to follow what men are trying to redefine.
Dear sister, this is how you remain steady in these times.
You don’t follow every voice.
You follow the Word.
The Word has been proven. It has stood the test of time. It has not failed before, and it will not fail now.
But voices change. Ideas shift. What people call truth today, they may abandon tomorrow.
So this woman stays with what is settled in Heaven for that matter!
Dear sister, this is how a life remains steady in times like this.
Not by running after every new voice.
Not by being carried by every new teaching.
This pastor trends today, you fly after him!
This singer becomes the bew sensation, you flock after him!
The Bible says in Ephesians 4:14,
“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine…”
You are not meant to be tossed around.
You are meant to stand.
And how do you stand?
You stop following every voice.
You begin to follow the Word.
Quietly. Firmly. Consistently.
Even when it is not popular.
Even when it is not easy.
Even when it costs you.
Because you know that what God has said is enough.
Dear sister… in a world full of noise, this one decision will preserve your life.
So let it come home to you now.
Do you truly love the Word?
Do you honour it enough to test what you hear, to hold on to what is written, and to refuse anything that does not align with it?
Because in the end, it is not the voices you followed that will matter.
It is whether you stayed with what God has said!

Reflection
Dear sister, when you hear a message, can you begin, in the next few days, to form that habit, not just hearing, but searching? Not just receiving, but confirming? The faith once delivered is still pure, still steady, still enough. But it must be held onto carefully, tested, and kept. Will you stay with what is written?
Prayer
Lord, forgive me for the times I have received things without checking them by Your Word. In these days of many voices, help me to return to the Scriptures again and again. Let Your Word be my standard. Keep me from error, and anchor me in what is true. Make me a woman who tests what she hears and holds fast to what You have said. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
