Theme: Gratitude Keeps Us In Check
I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God’s hands, that, I still possess – Corrie Ten Boom

One of life’s lessons is that the tighter we cling to things, the more easily they can slip off our hands if care is not taken. Until we realise that we cannot make anything of ourselves or do anything right with what is in our care, we will only end up losing even the nothing in our hands.
Many realities set before us daily, which should cause us to reflect on what will become of us when we make our own way ourselves and what we will become if we learn to entrust all in God’s care.
When we find that the truth about our existence is laid in understanding that we have no ability to sustain the things we care about and call ours, we will equally see the need to commit all into God’s mighty care, where it cannot be lost.
The need to express gratitude helps us to direct our attention away from ourselves to the one who can save us from losing what we think we can by ourselves keep from loss. The desire to make our own way in life is deadened by the constant practice of gratitude to God.
Recognising the power of gratitude in keeping God’s countenance stayed upon us helps us to always run to Him to have Him direct the course of our lives so that we may not go the route that leads to destruction even though it seems right.
There are many things we once held firmly in our hands, plans, relationships, resources, opportunities, even seasons of life that somehow slipped away. Some losses came suddenly; others faded slowly. Yet the truth remains: whatever is held only in human hands is vulnerable to change, time, and circumstance and what is left to God is stored as a treasure in heavenly vault.
This reminds us of a deeper, eternal principle: security is not found in possession, but in surrender. What we place in God’s hands is never truly lost, even when it looks different from how we imagined it. No wonder the Bible encourages us not to keep our treasures on earth but in heaven (Matthew 6:19-21) and to also set our affection on things above and not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2).
Dear sisters, let us be mindful to always acknowledge God (Proverbs 3:6), and be full of gratitude. It saves us from pride and the urge to control our lives. Receive grace to be grateful and humble all the days of your life in Jesus name. Amen

Let Us Pray:
Heavenly Father,we thank You for You are our source and sustainer, thank You for being the keeper of our souls and all that pertain to us, accept our thanks O Lord. We come to You and ask for grace to always remember that we can do nothing by our power. Help us to stay grateful all the days of our lives, may we never become prideful and disobedient. Let nothing take Your praises from our lips. Thank You Abba for teaching us gratitude, in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
