Fulfil Your Destiny

Fulfil Your Destiny

Echoes of Truth

January 8th

Theme: Fulfil Your Destiny

Destiny is not destroyed on the open battlefield, but in the quiet corners of compromise and disobedience. The cry of the Spirit in this hour is: slay sin before it slays you. Build an inner life that the fire of God can trust. Let holiness reign even where no one but God can see – Gbile Akanni

Satan is not our greatest enemy. He is but a defeated foe and the only power he has over us is what we hand over to him. The real enemy is the flesh and there is absolutely nothing it can do that will ever please God. Whatever we do in the flesh is always an abomination to God and this makes it our greatest enemy.

The flesh can never allow us to attain the realities of God’s amazing plans for our lives. The Bible tells us that God’s plans for us are to give us a future and a hope (Jer 29:11). The fulfilment of our destinies are in laid in this verse of the Scripture.

However, many times destinies that should proclaim God’s sovereignty and pronounce His perfect will gets aborted because of subtle giving-in to the demands of the flesh. It never begins big. It starts with simple disobedience that can’t hurt a fly to the will of God and compromises that harms nobody.

ECHOES OF TRUTH

What happened to king Saul was simply an inconsequential disobedience and compromise. What does keeping a few animals hurt? What can one man kept alive for his humiliation do after being defeated? Afterall, it is only to boast in the victory of the God of Israel and to taunt other enemies of His people. Besides, the rams will be sacrificed as burnt offerings!

He did not know that that alone constituted the perfect avenue for his destiny as the king of Israel to be cut short and the rest of his days and eventual death only ended in misery even to his third generation.

Sisters, this year, if we will walk with God, we cannot afford the price of compromises and disobedience, it is outright rebellion against God and such a person has no part in Him or the fulfilment of His thoughts and plans. Sin separates us from God!

Sin thrives in secrecy. Sin cuts destinies short. Sin is a destroyer out to recycle rising and falling in Christian lives.

To keep the fire burning and thrive in destiny, we must overcome sin by the help of the Holy Spirit. We must be radical about it. God told Cain that sin is crouching at his door, sin wants to have him but he must conquer it (Genesis 4:7). We overcome by day by day obedience and communion with the Holy Spirit.

Consistent communion with the Holy Spirit heightens our alertness to God in us, it takes us to the place where we no longer want to hurt our Lord by our sins and makes us more reliant on the spirit of God.

If our altars will be ablaze for God throughout this year, we must be as radical about sin as Jesus describes it in Matthew 5:29-30. Wherever it takes to keep a steadfast walk with God, let us not depend on our human effort but on grace, we must do it!
