THEME: THE DOWNFALL OF JERICHO
TEXT: JOSHUA 5:13-15; 6:1-27

Hello fam and welcome to Day 27!
Juicy July Day 27!
Oh, our God is faithful!
Take a few minutes to exalt the Lord. Give him praise for the strength to pray, the faith to pray and the Spirit of prayers.
In Jesus’ Name we have worshipped. Amen.
Today we will be looking at something important.
Be ready to be broken, to write down, to pray and to see the walls fall!
Before we proceed, let us sing this song with fervency, pray in it and declare it over ourselves.

WELCOME BACK!
Joshua 5:13-15 says:
13 While Joshua was near Jericho, he suddenly saw a man standing in front of him, holding a sword. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you one of our soldiers, or an enemy?”
14 “Neither,” the man answered. “I am here as the commander of the Lord’s army.”
Joshua threw himself on the ground in worship and said, “I am your servant, sir. What do you want me to do?”
15 And the commander of the Lord’s army told him, “Take your sandals off; you are standing on holy ground.” And Joshua did as he was told.
To fully settle in the promised land the Lord had prepared for the children of Israel, Jericho had to be defeated!
Joshua was by himself, walking around. Maybe he was thinking about those battles or maybe he was planning on how to strategically besiege Jericho.
Suddenly, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a sword in his hand.
He came close and asked a question:
“Are you for us or for our adversaries?’
Are you asking the Lord the same question today?
“Are you for me, Lord, or against me?’’
‘Why are the works of darkness succeeding over my life?’
You are going through so many tough times and have prayed and cried and pleaded- but it is getting worse, not better.
‘Is God really for me?’
‘Does the Lord really love me?’
When Joshua asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies? The Lord answered him, “Neither”.
Why?
Because the issue was not on whose side the Commander was, but the issue was on whose side Joshua was!
On whose side are you, sis?
Who are you for?
As for me, I AM FOR JESUS!!! (Open your mouth wide and pledge your allegiance to the Lord!)
The Lord told Joshua to remove his shoes because where he was was a holy ground!
Hmmmm, why was it holy?
Because the Lord Himself was around!
And if the Lord was around, the God of the mountains, the God that parted the Red sea;
The Lord that rained down Manna for His people;
Joshua must bow!
He mustn’t just stand like a warrior, no!
He was before the Mighty Man in battle, all the warriorship in Joshua must bow!
Have you recognized the Mighty man in battle or are you the one fighting?
You won’t win! You’ve got to give the battle to the Lord!
So, because He obeyed! He reverenced God. He wasn’t asking God any unnecessary question:
Lord, why would you put Jericho on our way?
Lord, why would you allow the Jerichoans to lock their gates against us?
Lord, why would you allow me to stay this long before getting married?
Lord, why put fibroid and infertility on my way to conception?
WHY WOULD YOU EVEN DO THAT, LORD?
No, no, no!
Joshua did not ask any question, he simply bowed!
He knew that the more the mountains and Jerichos on their ways, the more opportunities he had to see God’s hands!
Don’t worry sis, those Jericho will turn to you for a testimony!
Amen????
So, God had told Joshua and the Israelites that he had given them Jericho and everything in it, but when they approached, the wall was too high and the gates tightly, securely, firmly shut.
Nothing, nobody, no goods and services were going in or out of the city. They knew that the Israelites were around and they didn’t want to give them any chance.
Hmmmm…..maybe the enemy has made things very difficult for you because he knows and understands God’s plan for you.
He has heard about the divine promises for your life.
He is aware of the human promises and the efforts to help you.
He is aware of your confessions, ambitions, prayers and efforts to reach your goal and destiny, hence, his determination to frustrate, block and if possible destroy you and your plans.
Well, God gave Joshua what to do!
He gave him the prescription to their mighty problems!
Oh what we need is a Divine Prescription!
A prescription that cannot fail!
Oh how much we need God’s divine prescription!
God’s Divine instruction!
God told Joshua and the Israelites that they must march round the city of Jericho once a day for six days with seven priests walking ahead of the Ark, and seven times on the seventh day.
Oh what a seemingly unreasonable prescription it was!
Oh Lord, why would you ask me to do this?
March round such huge walls?
With our pregnant wives, nursing women, animals, grandparents and all?
Yes!
Ugh!
What God says you should do might not make sense.
You need money, He is saying you should give out your whole monthly salary.
You need Healing, He is asking you to go visit a sick person and heartily pray for the person.
You need to know His Will in marriage, He is asking you to remain in a church where there are no potential brothers.
You need to make money from your talents like others do, yet He says ‘Share that for free’.
What He is saying to you is in direct opposition to what is on ground!
Well, you should know better than to struggle with Him.
Hey, it is God!
He is the Lord!
For Joshua and Israel, the plan boiled down to one simple word: faith.
God was telling Joshua, “Just trust Me! Those walls might be tall and they might be thick, but I have already given you the city.
You see, God did not bring Israel out of Egypt just so they could fall at Jericho!
He saved them to walk in victory in Canaan.
The same is true in your life and mine.
God did not save us so that we could live every day of our lives in defeat.
He saved us to walk in victory, 1 Cor. 15:57!
He is telling us to do the same thing that He was telling Israel: “Just trust Me!”
If you want the victory over the walls that have been erected in your life, then that victory will be found in following God’s plan.
And God’s plan is a simple plan! Here is His plan as simply as I can give it to you:
Hebrews 11:6 says ‘Without faith, it is impossible to please God, because those who approach him need to believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.’
God’s plan for victory, regardless of the wall you need to see fall in your life, is as simple as this, “Just trust Him!”
Just as Israel was to place the tangible symbol of God’s presence, the Ark of the Covenant, at the head of their march around Jericho, the first step to victory is to place God first.
As the Lord detailed this plan to Joshua, it must have sounded strange to that old soldier’s ears.
There was no talk of armour or armaments.
There was no talk of soldiers, swords or spears.
There was no talk of sieges, of strategies or of secret weapons.
God’s plan involved the Ark of the Covenant; priests; trumpets and people.
God said, “Joshua, take the Ark, have seven priests blowing seven ram’s horn trumpets go before it and have them blow those trumpets. Then, have the rest of the people follow along behind.
Don’t say a word.
Don’t shout.
Don’t taunt the people of the city.
Don’t even speak!
Just walk.
Walk once around that city every day for six and then do it seven times on the seventh day.
When you finish that last lap, stop and give the shout of victory and the walls will fall down flat.”
From a human standpoint, this makes no sense.
From a military standpoint, it makes no sense.
From a logical standpoint, it makes no sense.
Yet, it is what God said to do!
Strange plans call for strong faith!
Imagine what would be going through the minds of the people of Jericho as the people of Israel marched around and around their walled city.
Well, when they did things God’s way, He gave them the victory.
They marched around that city, blowing those trumpets for six days and nothing happened.
On that seventh day, they did it seven times and nothing happened.
Then, they lifted their voices in a victorious shout and the walls fell flat.
They were able to enter the city and claim the victory God had given them.
His way worked! His way always works!
His will works!
His method works!
His advice and counsel work!
The Lord can be trusted!
Only Him!
Learning to walk in faith and learning to follow the Lord, even when His plan makes no sense, will always result in victory for the child of God!
Do you want to see those walls in your life come down?
Do you want to see those things that have hindered you in your walk with the Lord gone from your life?
If you do, the way to see that happen is to determine today to stop fighting your way and surrender to God’s way.
When the walls came down, Israel was able to go into the city and defeat it for the glory of God.
Joshua 6:20-21 says:
20 So the priests blew the trumpets. As soon as the people heard it, they gave a loud shout, and the walls collapsed. Then all the army went straight up the hill into the city and captured it.
21 With their swords they killed everyone in the city, men and women, young and old. They also killed the cattle, sheep, and donkeys.
These verses tell us how to finish the right way, after the Lord flattens the walls in our lives!
SOME THINGS MUST BE CLAIMED – God gave Israel absolute victory over the city of Jericho. All they had to do was enter the city and claim what He had already given them.
God has given us absolute victory in Jesus. All we really have to do to enjoy that victory is claim it by faith!
Do you want that victory in your life today? It is in Jesus and it is available by faith!
SOME THINGS MUST BE CONQUERED – When Israel entered Jericho, they killed every single person in that city. Nothing associated with Jericho could be allowed to live.
You see, the problem with Jericho was not the city itself. The problem was the people in the city. They had to be destroyed or their ways would have corrupted the children of Israel.
The same is true in your life and mine. When the Lord does give you victory and those walls come falling down in your life; you must rise up and put away everything that is associated with your Jericho.
Maybe someone needs to be forgiven.
Maybe you will need to develop a new circle of friends.
Maybe you will need to change the way you go to and from work.
Maybe you need to change the kind of TV Shows you watch or books you read.
When God gives you the victory in your life, take whatever steps are necessary to see that the problem in your life is totally conquered.
That is the path to lasting victory!
CAN WE BEGIN TO THINK DEEPLY RIGHT NOW?
I CAN SEE FROM WHAT GOD HAS EXPOUNDED HERE TODAY THAT HE IS INTERESTED IN HAVING ME ENJOY HIS VICTORY.
HE HAS EVEN GIVEN ME JERICHO ALREADY, SO JERICHO IS NOT EVEN THE PROBLEM!
THE PROBLEM IS MY WALK!
MY WALK ROUND JERICHO TILL IT FALLS!
I AM ANXIOUS TO SEE JERICHO FALL THAT I CAN’T EVEN WALK AND KEEP WALKING TILL I SEE ITS END!
I GET SO TIRED AND QUESTION GOD’S METHOD!
YET, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT WORKS!
I JUST MUST KEEP WALKING IN THE LIGHT!
I MUST KEEP WALKING IN THE LORD!
I MUST KEEP WALKING WITH THE LORD!
NO TALKING!
NO COMPLAINTS!
NO DOUBTS!
I MUST KEEP PRAISING AND SHOUTING HIS PRAISES AND I WILL SEE EVERYTHING FALL!
THE ENEMIES THAT HATE ME WILL FALL!
THE HATRED OF THE WICKED WILL FALL!
THE SICKNESSES WILL FALL!
EVERY JERICHO WILL FALL!
I JUST MUST START WALKING!
I MUST STOP QUESTIONING GOD’S METHOD!
I MUST START WALKING NOW!
SISTERS, BE SINCERE WITH YOURSELF AT THIS POINT.
WHAT IS STOPPING YOU FROM WALKING?
I MUST BE FRANK WITH YOU:
THAT THING STOPPING YOU FROM WALKING AS THE LORD COMMANDS WILL STOP YOUR JERICHO FROM CRUMBLING DOWN!
IT HAS BEEN THE ONE CHEATING YOU ALL THESE WHILE.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS HINDERING YOU FROM WALKING IN THE LORD?
WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES THE SERVICE TO THE LORD SO BORING TO YOU?
YOUR FRIENDS?
YOUR ADDICTIONS?
YOUR FORNICATION?
THE GUILT OF THAT ABORTION OR OTHER SINS?
SICKNESSES AND DISEASES?
WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS STANDING ON YOUR WAY OF GETTING TO THE PROMISED LAND?
BEGIN TO WRITE THEM DOWN. WRITE EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF DOWN. DON’T LEAVE ANY!
NOW, START PICKING EACH OF THEM UP AND RENOUNCING THEM. CONFESS EACH AS SIN (DON’T RUSH IT. FOLLOW THIS METHOD, IT WORKS)
PICK EACH AND TELL GOD YOU HAVE SEEN THEM AS IMPEDIMENTS TO YOUR SUCCESS IN LIFE. ASK THE LORD TO TAKE THE SINS AWAY FROM YOUR LIFE FOREVER AND WASH YOU CLEAN.
NOW, BEGIN TO PRAY ABOUT YOUR WALK WITH GOD.
Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus, I praise and glorify You, my God. I thank You for the promises and hope of Your word. Thank you for Your promise to walk daily with me. Lord, I thank You because You will guide and teach me, as I let Your word and truth turn my heart from sin and renew my mind in goodness and truthfulness.
Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I need to walk in the hope that only You can give. My way is unclear. The path is sometimes filled with twists and turns and confusion. Show me Your ways, Lord. Show me how You would walk in these places. Teach me Your paths of grace, mercy, integrity and love.
Help me to grasp Your ways so I can walk securely in them, even in the valley of darkness. Lord, I need to know Your perspective. Help me, Lord Jesus, to focus on Your ways.
Guide me in Your truth, Lord Jesus. Without Your Word active in my heart and mind, I cannot know Your truth. Help me make time to read the Word. Help me to take time to meditate on your Word and let it penetrate into my heart.
Lord, Your Word will guide me as a beacon and a light. Forgive me when I have left it on the shelf, collecting dust.
Forgive me for allowing the cares of the world to come in my way where I grabbed a verse and ran off for the day, forgetting what I read.
Help me, Lord, I pray. Take away everything that hinders me, while I spend quiet, quality time in Your word and prepare myself in my walk with God.
Lord, I will put my hope in You from today. Remind me, through Your Holy Spirit, to look to You for guidance, Lord.
Call me into Your quiet presence to think on Your truths and precepts. May I not be distracted by the world. Thank you for giving me the hope and help and peace I need.
Thank you that You never cease to call me to Yourself. Help me to respond afresh to Your presence in my life as I seek You daily in prayer and meditation. Help me, Lord Jesus Christ, tp walk with You, my Lord and God in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!

Every power preventing me from enjoying the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, fall down and be consumed by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

Give me prescriptions, oh Lord, that will end all my troubles in life forever!

Father, help me to understand your ways so that I may be wise in Jesus name.
Father help me to hold fast to all your promises to me and may they manifest in my life henceforth in Jesus name.
