Dear sister!
Is your heart on fire for God?
Have you ever had one of those mountaintop experiences, like at a Christian retreat, where you felt your passion reignited for the Lord?
It felt as if the presence of God was enveloping you. Your heart was so full of love and joy that you couldn’t contain it.
You promised yourself that you were going to read your Bible every day, pray and serve God and His people in your church.
You encountered the Lord and hungered for more.
Hmmmmmm…. This is what it feels like to have your heart on fire for God.
But soon after leaving the retreat, you go back into your regular daily life and soon forget that flame inside your heart.
It’s been days or weeks since you have picked up your Bible. And going to church seems more like a chore than a true desire to spend time in worship and fellowship with other believers.
*When we get so busy in our lives, the fire for God starts to dwindle.*
New Christians (converts) are the best because their flames often burn as bright as the sun!
Their freedom in Christ literally exudes from everything they do and say.
Older Christians who got born again a loooong time again often don’t have that same spark. They are already used to the Lord!
What happened to the spark??
Dear sis, have you lost your fire for God?
If so, what is keeping your heart from rekindling that flame?
I think it is time for you to re-evaluate what is important in your life.
We can usually find time for what we think is important in life but forget all about making God a priority.
It is quite easy to fall into a rut and lose your fire for God if you aren’t intentional about cultivating and developing your relationship with Him.
Perhaps this is the season you are in.
The season of firelessness!
The season where you feel no spark!
See, Satan loves these seasons because it takes our eyes off of Jesus.
He comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But there is hope to find a way out of the “slump” and set your heart on fire again!
Do you understand?
Fire is consuming and burns bright and hot. It is used to shape, refine, and purify. When you ask God to set your heart on fire, you are asking Him to consume you from the inside out. It is a desire to let your heart come alive with the desires of God.
You will be so overwhelmed by passion and love for God that you won’t be able to contain it.
You will want more of His character, more of His presence and more of the Holy Spirit.
How exactly do you keep the flame of Jesus burning bright in your life?
How do you keep from becoming a “lukewarm” Christian?
The answer is quite simple.
Always make Jesus the priority.
Just like in a marriage, the flame often goes out because they simply stopped prioritizing their relationship!
This is something you will have to intentionally work at!
We can’t let life get in the way of us seeking and pursuing God.
We must gather the necessary fuel for the fire. It must never go out. We must keep it burning bright.
How can I keep the fire burning?
1. PRAY DAILY
To keep your faith burning bright, start with the basics – prayer. Regular communication with Him will help keep the passion for Him burning.
God is seeking communion and fellowship with us, but we must respond.
Only God can open up the human heart to know Him.
If we are on fire for God, we will develop the intimate relationship He desires with us.
Being in God’s continual presence will help stir a fire in your heart.
Fully surrender your heart and mind to God. Ask God to show you how you can seek Him in all that you do. Ask Him to fill your heart with a desire and hunger for more of Him. *God is a consuming fire, let your heart be set ablaze by being in prayer with Him.*
2. MEDITATE ON GOD’S WORD
In order for you to keep your heart on fire for God, you must meditate on God’s Word.
Let God’s Word saturate your mind and heart. Get to know Him better so you can learn more about how He is working in your current circumstances. To better know Him is to love Him more and to love Him more you must learn about Him in the Bible.
In Luke 24:32, the two men had their hearts ablaze by the Word of God. They didn’t waste even a minute to tell the other disciples that Jesus had been resurrected! He had brought the truth of the gospel to the front and center of their lives.
They had heard the Word of the Lord and were then able to do the work of the Lord. If you are going to feel the same fire for God, you need to put Jesus at the front and center of your life by meditating on God’s Word daily.
2. SHARE THE GOOD NEWS
When we witness to others, we often do it by way of sharing a personal testimony or maybe a testimony of someone else that we got to see or hear.
Don’t you get excited when sharing these stories? Doesn’t it get your blood pumping?
One of the best ways to get your heart pumping again with excitement for Jesus is to simply tell others how amazing He is and how you’ve literally observed his amazing Grace!
All these, with fellowshipping with God’s people, reading good Christian books, serving in departments of your church fervently will rekindle the fire in you.
The church in Ephesus was reprimanded severely by the Lord Jesus for failing to keep or sustain their first love (fire) (Rev. 2:4).
We should expect the same if we allow the cares, the anxieties, the lusts, the pleasures or pressures of this life to put out the fire of God’s love in our souls.
The love of God cannot co-inhabit with the love of this world in any soul!
This is why Apostle John warns us not to love the world and its lusts.
1 John 2:15: Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–is not of the Father but is of the world.
The priests of old were instructed not to allow the fire go out!
How did they preserve the fire on the altar in their days?
They followed the instructions God gave them to the latter!
First, God instructed the priests to ensure that there is always a sacrifice on the altar (Exo. 29:38-42).
As long as there is a sacrifice on the altar, the fire will keep burning. But, when the sacrifice leaves the altar, the fire also leaves the altar.
Therefore, the priests were commanded to leave the burnt offering on the altar all night until morning, and then continue a succession of offerings in the morning until night. (Lev. 6:9)
Like the priests of old, we shall not fail to keep God’s love burning and glowing in our souls if we continually present, yield or offer ourselves to God as a living sacrifice.
Therefore, Paul admonishes, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Rom. 12:1).
“And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” (Rom. 6:13).
It takes a constant or continual submission to the Holy Spirit to keep His fire burning in your soul. This is why Paul admonished Timothy, saying, “That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.” (2 Tim. 1:14 NKJV).
Second, God instructed the priests to ensure that the ashes never cover the altar (Lev. 6:10)
After every offering, the priest must always “put on his linen garment, and his linen trousers he shall put on his body, and take up the ashes of the burnt offering which the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar. ‘Then he shall take off his garments, put on other garments, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place.” (Lev. 6:10-11).
The ashes must not cleave to the priest’s body!
What a wisdom and warning for God’s servants today!
The ashes are the trails of fire and the evidence that fire has thoroughly burnt. Ashes can no longer burn and they do not support burning. They are nothing but fire-extinguishers!
Therefore, when the ashes from the past burnt sacrifices are left to accumulate on the altar, they will put out the fire on the altar!!!
So, God instructed the priests to carefully handle them and properly dispose of them. They must be put aside after each offering and later be carried to a clean place outside the camp.
Today, “the ashes” implies the outcomes of God’s fire burning in your life, the proofs of God’s Spirit at work in your life, and the praises, encomiums or glories that people showers or heaps on you after being used of God to minister to them.
When you allow these ashes to cleave to you or to accumulate in your soul, it will put out the fire of God in your soul. This is the undoing of many servants of God today!
Sisters, you don’t deserve the glory, praise and honour for whatever God accomplishes through you.
Therefore, don’t let the ashes settle on you or cleave to you. The right place they belong to is God’s throne. You must never forget to always carry and leave them there.
Lastly, God instructed the priests to burn wood on the altar every morning.
God commanded, “…The priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.” (Lev. 6:12-13).
Adding the wood to the fire on the altar increases and strengthens the fire!
Solomon testifies, “Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no talebearer, strife ceases. As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindle strife.” (Prov. 26:20-21 NKJV).
Today, burning wood every morning implies spending quality time every morning in a loving and intimate fellowship or communion with God in prayer and in the Word.
This will keep the fire of God’s love burning and glowing increasingly in your heart and soul.
Treasuring God’s Word in your heart and focusing on God’s love for you will ignite and inflame your soul for God!
Dear sister, every morning you turn to meditate in God’s Word, you are adding wood to the fire in your soul; it will burn with greater intensity.
Every act of prayerful meditation on God’s love and Word is simply adding wood to God’s fire in your heart and soul.
The Psalmist said, “My heart was hot within me; while I was musing, the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue: (Psa. 39:3 NKJV).
Therefore, spend quality time everyday to meditate in God’s Word and Love for you.
Friend, have you lost God’s fire in your heart or soul, thereby becoming spiritually lukewarm?
You can get God’s fire back today by simply turning to the Lord Jesus Christ in humility, repentance and faith.
Jesus said to the church in Ephesus when
they lost their first love for Him, “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place–unless you repent.” (Rev. 2:5 NKJV).
Therefore, arise today to begin to spend quality time daily in a deep or intimate fellowship with God in prayer and in the Word of God.
When you begin to focus on God and begin to meditate deeply and constantly in God’s love and Word, your soul will be filled, overwhelmed, or submerged in God’s love.
This is the major way to rekindle, ignite and sustain God’s fire or love in your soul!
Friend, keep your mind set, fixated or focused on God, and you will never again become spiritually lukewarm, cold, or dead.
Paul states, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Rom. 8:6 NKJV).

Thank the Lord for speaking to you.
Bless His Holy Name for desiring a fiery relationship with you.
Bow before Him and worship Him for the love He’s shown to you even when your fire was going down and totally gone. He kept staying back. Appreciate Him
Now, begin to bare your mind at the Cross. Tell the Lord to have mercy on you.
Confess your lukewarmness and firelessness as sins before God.
Expose those things in your life that have been putting off the fire of your life. Ask the Lord to forgive you for allowing those things strangle the life out of your fire.
Tell the Lord that you will put out all those things right now. And begin to throw them out.
I throw you lies, exaggeration and understatement out of my life!
I throw you worldly pleasures, love for movies, lack of discipline, love for sleep, love for food, love for unnecessary fun, love for unprofitable gists out of my life right now in the Name of Jesus!
Continue to throw them out now!

Lord, I want to continue the fire burning on my altar. I want to put myself on the altar every day and burn. Help me to daily do only what will keep the fire burning on my altar in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
I bring my body to You oh Lord! Take over it! Let it burn for you. It is no longer be mine but Thine. Inhabit my body dear Lord! Help me to know that this body is really yours!! I present it as a loving sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You oh Lord. Take it, Father!!!!!! (Pray sincerely dear sisters)

Fire of the living God, fill me NOW!!!!!
Lord, give me a clear vision of the exact mandate you’ve called me to do in the Kingdom.
Fire of God burn away everything that has made my vision blur. Open my eyes to see clearly!!!
Dear lord, burn away everything that has made me spiritually insensitive.
Make me FULLY ALIVE in Your Spirit, Dear Father!!!
Sharpen my spiritual sensitivity, Lord!!!

Sweet Holyspirit, release the strength of an eagle to me.
Restore oh Lord, the strength that I lost during periods of my inconsistency and release grace upon me to recover those periods.
Fire of the Holy ghost, rearrange my circle of friends and influence. Let your fire take out fire extinguishers assigned by the devil to kill my fire!!!!!!!!!!!! ( Search your life through and through as you say this prayer and be prepared to let go of the friends or ‘lover’ the Holy Spirit brings to your mind. Repeat the pray till you feel a release to go on)
Arrange on my path people that would help my fire burn, Lord!!!!!
