JUICY JULY 2021

THEME: CARVED OUT

DAY 22: CRUSHING THE SPIRIT OF CONFUSION

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 14:33, PSALM 25:12

BIBLE READING: 1KINGS 18:46; 1 KINGS 19:1-21

The spirit of confusion is a very powerful tool in the hand of the enemy, it is sometimes neglected and nobody prays seriously against it.

Some people just find themselves in the world, with no good idea of what their purpose in the world is.

Praying against the spirit of confusion is very important in the life of a Christian.

Here comes the question- What exactly is confusion?

Confusion!!!

To be confused is to be perplexed or bewildered.

It is to be unclear or indistinct or to fail to distinguish between.

The more confused believers become, the more indistinct from the world they become.

Isaiah 26:3 says, โ€œThou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.โ€

The spirit of confusion has left so many christian under the spell and captivity of the devil.

So many christians are under the spell of confusion and it has prevented them from fulfilling the will of God and purpose of God for their lives, career, business and ministry.

Whenever you see disorder, chaos, lack of purpose, fighting with yourself, no direction and no will or zeal to succeed, then know that the spirit of confusion is at work.

You need to be very careful about this spirit, because when this spirit of confusion comes into the life of a man, it comes to bring destruction upon such person.

It truncates the relationship with God and man. The spirit constantly brings suffering into the life of man!

As children of God, we need to be very careful against the spirit of confusion.

You may want to ask: ‘Where does this spirit come from?’

Well, Satan is the author of confusion and he is the author of chaos and disorders.

The book of 1 corinthians 14:33 confirms this that satan is the author of confusion. The scriptures says that ‘For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all churches of the saints’

This affirms that satan is the author of confusion!

Also, 1 peter 5:8 tells us who is behind all the confusion in the world, it says ‘Be alert and of sober mind, your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for who to devour and destroy!’

Anything against the order is confusion!

The confusion of unbelievers is understandable, because their master, the devil, is the architect of confusion, but the confusion of believers is something we must arrest!

The spirit of confusion is a strongman with many terrible children which include loss of memory and forgetfulness (forgetting the most important things).

Sometimes we find some people spending hours looking for a missing thing while the thing is in their hands.

The children of confusion also include disappointment, weak and unstable Bible study, no prayer life, no order of personal devotion, incoherence of finances, blank minds, mind darkness, dullness, mental exhaustion, quarrelling, spiritual blindness and restlessness.

There are some people who are so restless that the little time they sit down is when they are in the church. Even that time, they’d stand to use the toilet or gist with Sister Amaka.

Confusion is so rampant among believers today that we need to tackle it.

All the lack of intimacy with God is a symptom of confusion.

Not hearing clearly the voice of God on issues about your life is a symptom of confusion.

Believing anyone who calls himself or herself a prophet or prophetess, or a pastor, is confusion.

A born again child of God going from one prophetโ€™s house to another is confusion.

For people who want to do the will of God, the first thing the enemy tries to do to them is to confuse them.

He did it to Jesus before Jesus started His ministry. In Matthew chapter 4, we read about the temptation of the Lord Jesus Christ:

โ€œConvert this stone to bread.โ€ The devil was trying to confuse him.

The devil also said: โ€œBow down and worship me.โ€

Confusion!

He further told Jesus: โ€œJump down.โ€

Confusion!

But Jesus refused to be confused!

The power called confusion is like the arrow that flies around. If the arrow gets into your life, you will not know the head from the tail and you will be unable to get anything reasonable on earth!

The enemy has an agenda to confuse men and to confuse women even more, because the more confused women we have, the more confused world we have.

One of the worst things that can happen to manโ€™s life is to be confused!

Confusion most times bring a limitation to oneโ€™s life because a confused person will not know the way forward.

A confused person is prone to making mistakes.

A confused person is prone is experiencing regrets in life.

A confused person will never be able to know what God wants her to do. Even if she does, she’d not be sure it is God speaking!

The spirit of confusion is designed to destroy lives, our relationships with God and man.

When God started creation, he had vision and a picture in his mind on how he wants the world to look like even in million years after.

He created man to have dominion. He never created man for suffering. But when sin came to the life of man, suffering started and *every man was left to make decision of the future for himself.*

If you didn’t get this last point above, read it again!

You are to make decisions for yourself! The Lord has given you the liberty to choose between life and death, between a good marriage and a bad marriage, between blessings and curses, between war and peace, but the devil is such a bad guy, he’d even parade the negative things like golds! So, looking at those things, you’d be confused between good marriage and a gold-coated bad marriage!

Confusion is a bad thing!

I have had my own fair share of it.

I desired to get married but the ones coming didn’t seem to be the one. Should I say yes to the gold-coated one abi I should wait for the good one?

Confusion!

Lord, should I marry or go for Master’s or make some money?

Lord, should I start a business or get a job?

Lord, should I stay in Nigeria or travel abroad?

Oh God, should I pray for another man to come for me or is it still this man that isn’t even making any move or showing He is interested in me that I should still wait for?

How should I do? Should I resign, start a business and have ample time for my newborn baby and husband?

Or should I continue working and believe that God will take care of my babies?

Should I go for the job close to my house and earn less and resign the job that’s too far and lose the huge salaries?

Should I contest for that post or just face my studies?

Should I start that blog or channel or should I just write a book?

Today, I think it’s Bro. James, tomorrow, I think it’s Richard, the next, I think it’s Andrew, oh Lord!

What would you have me be or do, Lord?

God created every man for a purpose and he has planned the way each person should live.

Psalm 25:12 โ€œwhat man is he that feareth the Lord? He shall teach him in the way he shall choose.โ€

Did you read that verse well?????

Read again!

God desires to make his plan and purpose known to man, but most people donโ€™t have time to know the plan and purpose of God for them!

And when a man is aligned or walking according to the plan and purpose of God for their lives, no spirit of confusion can come in.

These days, many people donโ€™t even have time to know the plan of God for their lives. Everybody wants a miracle! People sometimes even pray the wrong prayer, we no longer rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us and the word of God.

We ask different questions in our hearts like:

How can I know the will of God? Is it even possible?

Does God even answers prayer?

Hmmmm, confusion!

ARE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING HAPPENING REGULARLY TO YOU OR IN ANY AREA OF YOUR LIFE?

1. You always miss the timing of good things because you were not fast to make a decision while you were praying to know God’s mind for something and you didn’t seem to get an answer.

2. You always have regrets, visible regrets from the decisions you’ve made and ones you refused to make.

3 Despite your gifts, talents and potentials, you find it difficult to arise and do something good because you are not sure if it is backed by God or not.

4. You repeatedly loose opportunities for business, financial or educational rising.

5. You do not know what to do at any given time.

6. You play card games or guesses in your head to know what answer to give or what decision to make in many situations.

7. You always anticipate bad response or failure or rejection or regret after making a decision because you know how prone to mistakes you are.

8. You are afraid of decision making.

9. You’d rather have a man or woman of God make your decision for you than do it yourself.

These are a few symptoms of this sickness called Confusion!

Can you overcome this spirit?

Is it possible to overthrow this spirit out of my life?

Yeah, sure!

How?

1. You need to enter through what we call the gate of heaven. You must examine your heaven afresh. You must be convinced that you are born again.

2. You need to offer your life as a living sacrifice acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service. That is what Romans chapter 12:1 says: โ€œSubmit yourself as a living sacrifice and do not conform with this world, but be ye transformed.โ€

3. Become addicted to the word of God. Allow it to cleanse your life. Allow it to purify your actions. Begin the practice of regular and consistent meditation on Bible passages. Let this become part of your daily approach to God.

4. Commit yourself to living a life of holiness. The Bible says that without holiness no man shall see the Lord. God will only commune with holy people.

5. Cultivate the habit of having oil in your lamp always, that is, charge your battery and recharge your battery regularly, so that it will have fire. Sometimes just sit down somewhere and for half an hour or so, pray, you can even prayer in the Spirit.

6. Be a lady who engages in continuous praise. The Bible says that God is glorious in holiness and fearful in praise. Be a person who sings praises to Him.

SHALL WE PRAY?

Worship God for the privilege to speak to Him and hear from Him.

Appreciate Him for all He has done for you.

Ask Him to take charge of this prayer session.

Ask Him to open your heart and eyes

Ask the Holy Spirit to move unhindered in this prayer session.

Let’s take this song:

Lead Me To The Rock BY Don Moen but sung by Kent Henry

When my heart is overwhelmed
Hear my cry
Give heed to my prayer
And my eyes
Are dim with tears
O Father, make them clear
From the ends
Of all the earth
When my heart is fainting
Let me know
That you have heard
Lead me into safety

And lead me to the Rock
The Rock that’s higher
Lead me to the Rock
That’s higher than I
Lead me to the Rock
The Rock that’s higher
Higher than I

You, O Lord
Have been for me
A refuge from my enemies
Let me live
Within your strength
In the shelter
Of your wings
From the ends
Of all the earth
When my heart is fainting
Let me know
That you have heard
Lead me into safety

Let’s take our second and the last song for today, victoriously!

DOES JESUS CARE?

Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth and song
As the burdens press and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long

Oh, yes
He cares
I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary
I know my Savior cares

Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong
When for my deep grief I find no relief
Though my tears flow all the night long

Oh, yes
He cares
I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary
I know my Savior cares
I know my Savior cares

God bless you sis๐Ÿ’–
