Theme: Reclaiming Biblical Womanhood
“A biblical woman is not spiritually unintelligent. She is not negligent in enriching her spirit or searching the Scriptures. She educates herself, sharpens her mind, and grows in wisdom so she may better understand who this God is and walk faithfully in His ways.”
— The BUD Family Africa

The Price for Biblical Womanhood
The very phrase “biblical womanhood” already tells you the source of this womanhood. It is rooted in the Bible. Remove the Bible and the whole thing collapses.
How can a woman claim biblical womanhood without biblical knowledge? How can she walk in biblical principles if she does not know what the Scriptures say?
It is impossible.
A woman who desires to live according to God’s design must become a woman of the Word. The Scriptures must become the environment she lives in. Her thinking, her judgments, her decisions, her counsel, her discernment must all pass through the lens of the Word of God.
The Scriptures say, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Without that light, a woman is simply walking in darkness, no matter how ‘bright’ her life seems to be right now. In the place where life is, where things matter, she is simply a blind person.
True Wisdom is From Above
Wisdom can be gotten from anywhere but true wisdom comes from God and unlike every other source of wisdom, God’s wisdom is free of corruption and it carries the very life and essence of God in it (Proverbs 8:35).
The woman who chooses God’s wisdom and lives by it is made pure, leads a peaceful life, is gentle, friendly, compassionate, doer of good deeds, and no hypocrisy can be found in her (James 3:17).
In Proverbs 4:22, the Bible highlights that wisdom is to be found! When it is found, it brings wholesome life and health to the finder.
To find wisdom, the right price has to be paid. In verse 7, the admonition is to get wisdom at all cost. Also, Proverbs 23:23 says to buy truth, wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
This all begins with knowing the Truth that sets free!!!
A Biblical Woman must be willing to give herself and devote her time and resources to being fully armed with the Truth of God’s Word (John 17:17).
She cannot fulfil or walk in the path of Biblical womanhood until she is willing to buy wisdom because it is a path that requires building- of the home, lives, future, and generations.
To embrace Biblical womanhood is to embrace the fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom. Such a woman understands that she is in for a lifetime of growing roots deeper and the fruit of good works shooting upwards for all to see and praise God.
Because the world’s systems have in many ways polluted her mind, she submits herself to the cleansing of her mind by the Word of God. The more she exposes herself to the radiating power of God’s word, the more her worldview and ideologies are transformed. The Bible becomes her source of wisdom and guidance in all her daily living and decision-making.
A Biblical woman cherishes every moment she gets to build the spiritual muscles of the inner man. She screens every knowledge in the light of God’s Word. She recognises a lie when she sees it because she is so grounded in the Truth hence she cannot be deceived.
In Proverbs 24:3-6, there is a fundamental truth every woman should be equipped with in the pursuit of Biblical womanhood. To truly function in the woman’s God given role, the internal status of the home is dependent on wisdom to build the home, understanding for establishing that home in God’s will, and knowledge to fill it up with every good virtue in Christ (Vs 3:4).
But the next two verses (5-6) exposes that there will be external attacks to a home that is finely built and established. It is by wisdom and knowledge that those wars are won and the enemies conquered.
A Biblical woman recognises that there’s a waging war against her, the opposition that seeks to war against anyone who chooses to do what pleases God.
The battle is mainly characterised by stronghold, arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.
By applying the wisdom, knowledge and trusting in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, she is able to bring every of these into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
She understands that she can only fight to win when she in the first place has allowed the Lord to teach her hands to war and her fingers to fight- through the Word and prayer!
A Biblical Woman Lives Inside the Scriptures
A biblical woman does not merely admire the Bible. She lives inside it.
When someone gives her counsel, she quietly weighs it against the Scriptures. Even if the counsel comes from an older woman, it doesn’t matter. She still asks, Does this align with the Word of God?
The Scriptures say that the Bereans were noble because “they searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11)
They did not accept teaching blindly. They went back to the Word.
That is the spirit of a biblical woman!!

When she must make decisions about her home, her children, or even counsel her husband in moments of reflection, she is looking through the lens of Scripture.
The life of God within her is constantly interpreting the world around her through the Word.
Her judgments are not emotional reactions but scriptural convictions.
Knowing the Voice of God
One of the greatest tragedies today is that many believers speak about hearing God but have not spent time with His Word.
How will you know the voice of God if you have not sat with Him?
The Scriptures say, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)
But how does the Shepherd speak? He speaks through His Word!
The Spirit of the Lord works with what has already been deposited inside you. The Scriptures say the Holy Spirit will bring things to remembrance.
“The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost… shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance.” (John 14:26)
Remembrance of what?
The Word you have stored inside you, sis!!
If you have not taken anything in, what will the Spirit bring out? What material will He use to guide you, correct you, and shape you?
The Holy Spirit teaches, corrects, and molds us through the Word. The Scriptures say: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
A biblical woman understands this. That is why she treasures the Word.
The Danger of Spiritual Ignorance
When a woman is unfamiliar with Scripture, deception becomes easy.
It becomes easy to follow cultural ideologies. Easy to absorb the spirit of the age. Easy to follow the loud voices of feminism, human philosophy, or worldly counsel.
The Scriptures warn us that the serpent deceived Eve through subtlety (2 Corinthians 11:3). Deception rarely comes looking evil. It often sounds intelligent, compassionate, or progressive.
But a woman grounded in the Word can easily catch error.
She can say, “That sounds good, but it is not scriptural.”
This is why the Scriptures say: “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
And that renewal comes through the Word of God.
Under the New Covenant, You Must Know God Yourself
There was a time when spiritual knowledge was largely mediated through priests and prophets. But under the new covenant, this is not the arrangement!
The Scriptures say:
“They shall not teach every man his neighbour… saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me.” (Hebrews 8:11)
Every believer now has direct access to God through Christ.
This means a woman cannot delegate her spiritual responsibility to her husband, her pastor, or her church leaders. Yes, teachers and leaders help us grow. But the responsibility to know God personally belongs to each believer!
Because you are a woman does not mean you should be spiritually passive.
Because you are married does not mean your spiritual discipline should disappear.
When you were praying for the will of God while single, the fire was hot and fervent. Why should you relax now in marriage?
What happened to the hunger?
Anything that pulls a believer away from spiritual diligence is dangerous. Whether it is career, money, endless entertainment, or constant distraction, anything that consistently replaces time with God becomes an enemy of the soul.
The Scriptures say, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
Loving the Father Through His Word
The Scriptures say, “His commandments are not grievous.” (1 John 5:3)
Oh how amazing!
Do you think the Lord’s commandments are grievous at the moment?
Yes, because you have not known Your Father well. You have not sat with Him long enough!
You have only heard of Him by the hearing of the ears, your eyes are yet to see Him!
When a woman truly knows God through His Word, obedience will stop feeling burdensome.
When you trust the Father, you know His commands are not meant to harm you. The one who created you understands life better than you do, so, if He says IT, then IT must be the best option ever!
But trust comes from relationship.
And relationship comes from time.
You cannot know the heart of a father you never sit with.
A Personal Story
There was a year when I became extremely serious about reading the Word. That year was my game-changer forever! I worship the Lord for that season of my life.
I was reading many chapters every day. I would wake very early and sit with the Scriptures before the day began.
At one point I was pregnant, I still kept digest my chapters on and on. I don’t do boring Bible study at all. I have all my materials that make Bible journaling so beautiful. So, I think you should also consider that.
When I went to the hospital to give birth, I carried my Bible with me. I did not want to miss my chapters. So, even on the hospital bed, the Bible was beside me. My highlighters were there. I would study quietly when I had the chance. When the baby cried, I would feed the baby, lay the baby back down, and return to the Scriptures.
Looking back now, I realize how much the Lord was building strength inside me during those seasons. There were battles, spiritual attacks, and moments when the enemy tried to shake things. But the Word had already built something inside me.
The Scriptures say believers overcome “by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” (Revelation 12:11)
Without the Word stored inside you, you will be vulnerable when storms come.
A Biblical Woman Studies to Obey
And hey, sis, a biblical woman does not study Scripture merely to accumulate knowledge. She studies to obey!
The Scriptures say, “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only.” (James 1:22)
Knowledge without obedience produces death. But knowledge that leads to obedience produces transformation.
So she reads carefully. She prays through difficult passages. She refuses to skip the parts of Scripture that challenge her or feels so uncomfortable to her.
If a verse is hard, she takes it to the Lord in prayer. She asks the Holy Spirit to open her understanding.
The Scriptures say, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” (Psalm 119:18)
Guarding What Enters Her Mind
A diligent woman of the Word is also careful about what she feeds her mind apart from the Bible eg. Movies, skits, online platforms and even books!
She examines books before reading them. She asks: Who is this author? What do they believe? Does their message align with Scripture?
If the foundation is wrong, she puts the book down. She protects the soil of her heart.
The Scriptures say, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)
She does the same with media, voices, and influences. If someone online for instance constantly spreads false teaching or confusion, she blocks the person off and protects her mind.
This is the wisdom of a biblical woman! She can’t listen to many voices at the same time! If the voices of a teacher aligns with her Father’s, she pays attention. If it sounds like the voice of a robber (John 10), she locks her door!
Strength in the Spirit
Some people mistake femininity for weakness. They think when you are talking about a woman of the Bible, you are talking about a weak woman who is gullible and lacks action. But that’s not true! A woman grounded in the Word carries tremendous spiritual strength.
She understands that if the body does not eat food, it becomes weak. And if the spirit does not feed on the Word, it will also grow weak.
The Scriptures say, “I am the bread of life.” (John 6:35)
When a woman feeds on the Word with the Spirit of God illuminating it, that Word becomes life inside her.
Gradually she becomes like what the Scriptures describe: “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water… his leaf also shall not wither.” (Psalm 1:3)
That is the picture of a woman anchored in Scripture. Her roots are deep. Storms come, but she does not collapse.
The Call to Diligence
So this is the call before us today, my dear sister who want to do life the way her Father has designed. If you want wisdom to build your home, seek the Word.
If you want discernment in a confused generation, seek the Word.
If you want to know the Father deeply, sit with the Scriptures daily.
Turn away from the distractions that consume time but produce nothing eternal. Build a home atmosphere where the Word is honored, where Scripture is read, prayed, and lived.
There is no biblical womanhood without the Bible.
A biblical woman is not spiritually unintelligent. She is a seeker. A learner. A disciple.
She studies the Word, not to boast in knowledge but to walk in obedience.
And as she continues in that path, the Word slowly transforms her from the inside out until her life begins to reflect the very character of God.

Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father, my Father and my God, I come before You today with all sincerity. Father, You see me. You know my life, my weaknesses, my distractions, the places where my fire has grown dim. Lord, I do not want to walk blindly. The Scriptures say that Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Therefore Father, draw me back to Your Word again.
Father, in the name of Jesus, awaken my spirit. Remove every laziness that has kept me from sitting with the Scriptures. Remove every distraction that has stolen the time that belongs to You. Lord, anything in my life that has replaced Your Word, anything that has made me comfortable living without the Scriptures, I lay it down before You today. Deliver me from it.
Father, plant in me a deep hunger for Your Word. Let my heart long for the Scriptures again. Let me wake up desiring to sit with the Bible. Let Your Word become sweet to my soul. The Scriptures say that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Father, teach me to live by Your Word.
Lord, open my eyes as I read the Scriptures. The Scriptures say, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” Father, open my understanding. Let the Holy Spirit teach me. Let the Word begin to correct me, build me, shape me, and transform me from the inside out.
Father, deliver me from deception. The Scriptures say that the serpent deceived Eve through subtlety. Lord, do not allow me to be carried away by the spirit of this age. Do not allow me to follow voices that oppose Your truth. Help me to measure everything by the Word of God. Give me discernment to recognize error when I see it.
Father, make me a woman of wisdom. The Scriptures say that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Let my life be rooted in that fear. Let Your wisdom guide my decisions, my words, my home, and my future. Teach me how to build by wisdom, establish by understanding, and fill my life with knowledge according to Your truth.
Lord, strengthen me spiritually. The Scriptures say that those who meditate on Your Word day and night will be like trees planted by the rivers of water whose leaves will not wither. Father, plant me deeply in Your Word. Let my roots go deep so that when storms come, I will not collapse.
Father, I make a fresh commitment today. I will sit with Your Word. I will read it, meditate on it, pray through it, and obey it. Teach my hands to war and my fingers to fight through the Scriptures.
Make me a true biblical woman, one who knows You, loves You, and walks faithfully in Your ways.
I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The price of being a Biblical woman is to be rooted in the Word of God. If you take the Bible from a Biblical woman, she becomes ordinary and vulnerable.
Lord help me to be well grounded in Your Words all the days of my life, give me the grace to walk in light 🕯️ of Your Words 🙇🔥
