Good day, BUD! I welcome you to Day 19 on this gracious and wonderful Juicy July prayer programme.

Today, we will be looking at what Divine assistance is and be asking God for it.

Before that, let’s take our first song for today. It is titled *Psalm 121* by The Corner Room

Sing the song, while indeed lifting your eyes to the hills.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, he who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
He will keep your life.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

From where does my help come?
From where does my help come?

The Lord will keep
Your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forevermore.

Forevermore.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?

My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

Welcome back!

Let’s confess this very quickly:

“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God, I shall receive help from above in Jesus name” Luke 18:27

(Say a word of prayers to the Lord now as we take a look at what the Lord has for us today.)

This world is a battle field, without divine help you will suffer defeat, humiliation and shame.

Without divine help people will forget you and men will abandon you.

Consider the story of Joseph in Gen 40:9-14

Joseph expected help from a man, but that man forgot.

In the story, Joseph requested for two things

-Think of me and show kindness.

-Mention my name to Pharaoh.

Yet that man did not remember.

“FROM NOW ON YOU SHALL NOT BE FORGOTTEN IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS!6”

What made that man to remember later on was the help and the intervention of God!

In the name of Jesus, wherever you have been forgotten, God will bring your thought to them to remember you from this moment forward!

God is the source of help for the believer. In any difficulty, trial, affliction, or trouble, God is the one to whom we must look.

Psalm 121 presents this God of help very vividly.

David had a proper perspective in his difficulties. He would lift up his eye, far away from his problems. He would look up to the hills and even higher to the Lord.

When we are in the valley of trouble and turmoil, we must make the same choice. We must choose to lift our eyes up to the Lord.

Sadly many keep their focus within the vale of their present trouble. They seek to find help from man, or to work their way out of their own difficulty.

When strength fails, and the limited resources of man’s ability to help run out, where can we turn?

Sadly, many seek for divine intervention as the last resort and not the only option.

King Asa relied upon the help of His God and the result was great spiritual rest.

And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee (II Chronicles 14:11).

For those who choose to rest upon their God, God will surely give them rest.

“Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek ………now the Egyptians are men and not God………. they shall all fail together” Isaiah 31:1,3.

Until a man completely resigns himself to God, no help will come from above.

Ps.  108:12 says “Give us help from trouble for the help of man is USELESS”

It is very obvious that a man at his very best is human, limited and always in want.  The best you can receive from man is disappointment because God has configured man to always have a need in order to depend on God.

Many people are looking for help here and there to the extent of going to Egypt which is an abomination that causes vexation from God.  (Isa. 31:1 – 3).

There are problems and challenges on a daily basis.  However, God has made provisions to match all the challenges by the Calvary offering Jesus made for us.  So, there is hope for us.  Hallelujah!

Ps. 125:1 – “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed but abideth forever”

This is a staunch condition to receive help from above, ‘TRUST IN THE LORD” You cannot receive anything good from someone you don’t trust.

Look unto God the author and the finisher of your faith. You cannot look up and down at the same time.  Drop all human alternatives and seek the true God.  Rely on God and not on any man.

God can make everything in creation to generate help for you when needed.

Look at Revelation 12:15 & 16: And the Earth helped the woman and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth”

At the Red Sea, Israel received help. It took God to kill the Egyptian firstborns to help out his firstborn Israel.

He sent manna, preserved the cloths and shoes of the people in the wilderness. He will help you out in Jesus name.

He helped Jabez and made him honourable.

He helped the Sons of the Prophets and delivered them from the indebtedness of the missing axe head. He will help you out of that debt and losses in Jesus name.

WHAT IS DIVINE HELP:
1. IT IS THE HELP FROM THE ALMIGHTY GOD HIMSELF

2. IT MEANS GOD SENDING HELP TO YOU WHEN YOUR OWN EFFORT CANNOT PRODUCE RESULT – LUKE 5:1-10

3. IT MEANS GOD SENDING ASSISTANCE TO YOU WHEN YOU NO LONGER EXPECT IT – 1 KINGS 178-16

4. IT MEANS GOD SENDING HELP TO YOU WHERE YOU DO NOT EXPECT IT

Regardless of the situation and circumstances we find ourselves; we should learn to key into the mystery of Divine help!

Divine help possesses the mysterious power that is capable of giving us our desired solution and breakthroughs.

“For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” {Isa 41:13}

When you key into the mystery of divine help, then;

– There is no need for you to have long leg;

– There is no need for you to lobby or bribe anyone.

  – There’s no need for you to beg

The carving-out power of God can clear every obstacle and make a way.

Pray this Prayer loudly:

I plug my life into the mystery of divine help by the Power in The Blood of Jesus.

Amen!

We serve a God with unlimited resources. It is nothing for Him to help. When Jesus healed the woman with the infirmity, He lost no virtue.

Let us have a proper perspective that lifts up our eyes past the vale of this sorrow and rests upon the infinite power of our Creator God.

He is our Provided Helper; Personal Protector; and our Present and Permanent Protector.

Those who cry out to the Lord and see His mighty hand bring great deliverance in their lives will surly have great testimonies of how the Lord has helped them.

Sisters, can you recall today where the Lord has helped you?

Ebenezer-Hitherto hath the LORD helped us, is the memorial set up by the Prophet Samuel upon the occasion of the Lord’s deliverance of His people out of the hands of the enemy.

Hitherto= reminds us of the Lord’s help up until this point. God has been faithful in the past. When we recall the Lord’s help until this point, it reminds us that we can trust on Him for any present difficulties as well as any troubles that may arrive in the future.

If God has been our help to this point, He certainly will not fail today!
