Echoes of Truth

Theme: Choosing God’s Will
Our minds must be set always to seek the will of the Lord. Following the progressive discipline revealed through the Bible will result in a walk of obedience to God – Billy Graham

Since the receival of the Holy Spirit’s baptism, we no longer have the excuse the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak applicable to us. This is because one of the responsibilities of the Holy Spirit’s power resident within us is to aid the progressive change in our lives that compels us to submit to God better and deeper today than the previous day and tomorrow’s than today’s.
The Holy Spirit as the Great Tutor of the Word daily nudges us towards it that we may seat under His tutelage. The more we yield and sit, the brighter God’s will shines upon our hearts as unto the dawning of the sun. The revelation of God’s mind becomes a daily satisfaction unto the daily bread.
Hence, each day, we cry in prayers before the Word, ‘Give me Your will for this day’.
The result and transforming effect of that is a brokenness deserving of walking in daily obedience. Daily obedience thus becomes the cross that is no longer taken up and dragged along the way.
No, obedience becomes the cross upon which we are crucified, living by Christ and for Christ. Faith in the One we have come to believe becomes the nails that keeps us fastened to the cross of wholehearted, prompt, and complete.
The fruit is that in the exercise of the will-power we are made with, unlike Adam who fumbled at the test of yieldedness, we would by obedience be learning disciplines that transform us from one level of glory to the other. Our testimony each day would be that we are hungry for Him and daily, we are satisfied right there in His presence.
Submitting to God’s will in obedience becomes evident in our day-to-day choices, from spending time with God before starting our day to refraining from speaking when restrained by the Holy Spirit and other dealings by the Holy Spirit that seem inconsequential…
The truth is that God has not hidden His will from us. Through His Word, His Spirit, and godly counsel, He continually reveals His desires and purposes. The question, then, is not whether God is speaking, but whether we are willing to submit.
Seeking God’s will begins in the heart. We must cultivate a genuine hunger to know what pleases Him, with a singular focus on obedience rather than convenience. Our prayers must echo the words of Jesus: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” When our hearts are postured this way, obedience ceases to be a burden and becomes an act of love.
As believers, may we daily choose the discipline of surrender, setting our minds, hearts, and wills toward God, trusting that His will is perfect, His timing is wise, and His plans are always for our good and His glory. Oh, that righteous hunger that daily keeps one in His Presence will consume our innermost core in Jesus name, Amen!

Let Us Pray:
Abba Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation and for revealing Your will to us through Your Word and Your Spirit. We acknowledge that You are sovereign, faithful, and good in all Your ways. Lord, we ask for Your mercy for all the times when we have leaned on our own understanding and chosen our own paths instead of seeking Your will. Today, we surrender our hearts, minds and will to You. Help us to seek Your will and obey you in all things. Help us to trust Your plans for us and live a life that brings You glory, thank You Father, in Jesus name we pray. Amen
