TODAY, WE WILL BE KNOCKING ON HEAVEN’S DOOR FOR A CHRIST-LIKE HEART!

SING FOR AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT. THEN, MOVE ON!
The question is : Who resides in your heart?
The heart is the core of who you are as a person. Your heart is, essentially, you.
The heart is important because it pumps blood around your body, delivering oxygen and nutrients to your cells and removing waste products.
Just like how the heart is the powerhouse of the body physically, so it is spiritually.
Once the heart stops beating, the person is either dead or in coma, so once the heart is disconnected from God, then the whole body is disconnected from God…
The reason why you need to guide your heart is because once the heart is Polluted, the whole body is automatically contaminated.
Matthew 15:18-20 ESV
“But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile”
That is why God wants us to guide our heart with all diligence…
Matthew 7:21-24 (NKJV)
“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil be thoughts, adulteries, Fornications, murders, 22thefts, covetousness, Wickedness, Deceit, Lewdness, An Evil Eye, blasphemy, Pride, foolishness. 24 All these evil things come from within and defile a man”…
That is why Proverb 4:23(NKJV) says
” Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it spring the issues of life”
So let’s look at a Christ-like heart:
A Christ-like heart is simply a heart that is free from Sin and Self.
The heart was mentioned hundreds of times in the Bible.
Our heart is the channel or link through which God speaks to us. Our heart is used for breathing, thinking, Loving etc.
Matthew 12:34-35: “A good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” We could also say that not only does his mouth speak, but his mind thinks, and his body acts.
A Christ-like heart is a teachable heart
A Christ-like heart is a loving heart.
A Christ-like heart is an understanding heart.
A Christ-like heart is a humble heart.
A Christ-like heart is a compassionate heart.
A Christ-like heart is an heart that is free from offenses
A Christ-like heart is a heart that is free from Covetousness, Envy, Pride, Jealousy, Hatred, Unforgiveness, bitterness, strife, let me just say free from Sin and Self.
Psalm 51:17
Do you know that God will never reject or despise a broken and contrite heart in fact that is the sacrifice of God
How do you receive the word of God when it comes to you?
How do you receive/take people’s successes, they might even be older or younger than you?
We envy ourselves because of the kind of hearts we have, we feel we can do better than the person that is being celebrated.
Why envy another person when we can encourage them to do more, or even pray for them. We all came to this world with nothing, so why are we fighting to have many followers, likes, comments, clothes, popularity, influence as our neighbors?
Will you also take them to heaven with you. Wait for your own timing, don’t envy your neighbour’s timing.
Having a Christ-like heart is what God needs from every believer.
A Christ-like heart that accepts rebuke, corrections, rejoice with other people, celebrate other People genuinely, help other people without any hidden intentions and many others…
“As a believer, you can only talk right when you think right”
Let us look at Saul and David.
Saul’s Jealousy started in 1 Samuel chapter 18:7-9
I believe we all know the story very well,
Sin begot more sins.
Imagine from Jealousy to hatred, hatred to trying to pin David to the wall 1 Samuel 18:11.
That is why we really need to be conscious of the thought we allow to reside in our heart…
Despite all, David still loved his enemy, *Saul* ohhh no wonder God loved David!
I tried to find out why David was called a MAN AFTER GOD’S HEART, I realised that he had a broken and contrite heart.
Fine, he made some mistake but as soon as God’s rebuke went to him, he repented immediately unlike Saul.
Please I would persuade us to study the life of David.
The truth is a lot of people can pray but their hearts are far away from God… Matthew 15:8
“Be careful of the seed that you allow to grow in your heart, they will either stain you or sustain you”
When your heart is God’s home or dwelling place, you won’t entertain any thoughts that will defile such a heart.
Once the heart is polluted, the whole body will definitely be contaminated.
We have two types of hearts:
1) The Pure HEART ( Christ-like heart) Mathew 5:8
2) The Impure HEART ( A heart filled with Sin and Self… Genesis 5:5b,
How to have a Pure Heart
1) The Word of God is the best Sanitizer for the heart, constantly study and mediate on the Word of God, let his word saturate your heart.
How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.” Psalm 119:9.
Psalm 119:11
Don’t just study the word, mediate on it, pray it into your life and begin to live it…
2) Be careful or watchful of books you read and movies you watch or things you see because it is easily registered in our heart… we all know the story of David and Bathsheba 2 Samuel 11:2
SING THE SONGS WELL AND LISTEN TO THE LYRICS CAREFULLY NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU ARE USED TO IT:

Lastly
3) Pray so that you won’t become a prey in the hands of the devil, He is busy looking for whom to devour… 1 Peter 5:8
Zechariah 4:6b
So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.
No one gets a good thing by wishing for it, but by praying it into being!
Being a G.O/Bishop, son or daughter doesn’t automatically mean you have a Christ-like heart, you would have to pray so that you can receive it. Having a Christ-like heart in this polluted world is something you constantly need to pray for.
I wish to shield more light on this but I just want us to know that it is not a prayer you pray once and forget about it, it should be our daily prayer…
So let’s begin to appreciate the name of the Lord for the word that he has sent to us..

NOW, LET’S PRAY!
Let’s start by confessing our sins to God.
Lord forgive me of all my Sins
Lord wash my heart with your blood.
After we’ve done that , let’s begin to pray this Prayers aloud…
Dear Lord, inflame my hearts and my inmost beings with the fire of Your Holy Spirit, that I may serve You with chaste bodies and pure minds, In Jesus’ name. Amen!
Lord Jesus, have mercy on me. I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity. Obtain for me, then, a deep sense of modesty which will be reflected in my external conduct.
Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul, from anything that might dim the light of my life. Seal my heart forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures. May I be among the number of those whom Jesus spoke, “Blessed are the pure of the heart, for they shall see God.” Amen!
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. – Psalm 51:10
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, oh Lord.
Let your Holy Spirit guide me in my prayer and in thought, and grant me the grace to listen and hear your Word. Soften my heart, that I may be directed by your truth, and not the devices of my body and mind. In the name of Jesus Christ I ask this. Amen!
Father, help me flee all forms of sexual immorality by fleeing to You. In my marriage, in my singleness, in my brokenness, in my need for repentance and healing, be glorified in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ!
Purify my heart O Lord my God, for I love and trust You and desire to be set apart unto You, in holiness and righteousness all the days of my life. I desire to be holy for You are holy and You have called all Your children to be set apart unto You, and to be refined in the refining fires of Your purifying love and unimaginable grace, so that we may come forth as pure gold in Your sight.
Lord, it is my chief desire to be set apart unto You, “holy unto the Lord,” and ready to do Your will. Lord, I cannot do this in my own strength, but only in the power of the Holy Spirit, Who alone can take my bruised and bloodied heart and change me from the inside out to become more and more like Jesus.
May I like Him, walk in spirit and truth and help me to seek to do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight and honouring to Your holy name. Guide me into all truth. Help me to lay aside all the encumbrances of this world that hinder my pursuit for purity. I ask this in the name of my precious Saviour, Jesus Christ my Lord,
Dear Lord God, I seek a true inner purity that only comes from You and I come to You, knowing that I stand unclean, impure and wretched before Your perfect throne of purity and truth. Lord, I ask Your forgiveness for the way that I have not honoured You with my body, knowing that I have engaged in many impure acts and unchaste thoughts.
Help me Lord, to flee fornication and all the accompanying evils that flow from illicit sexual relationships and unclean thoughts, knowing that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who dwells in me and lives within my heart. Help me to keep my outward actions and inner thoughts pure before Your eyes, whether I am in the public view or hid in a secret place, and away from the gaze of the world’s eye.
Purify the eyes of my heart and help me to keep the focus of my mind on the Lord Jesus, and develop in me I pray, thoughts, words, deeds and motives that are pure in Your sight and that will honour Your Holy name. In Jesus’ name I pray,
Please, Holy Spirit, renew my mind, heart, and soul. Lord, all I want is to be with You. I don’t want my friends, family, and all the people that surround me to suffer in hell.
Oh God, heavenly Father, please freely use me and my life to be a living testimony of how Your power and wonders have worked in me.
Thank You, Father God, that I have been made clean through the blood of my Saviour Jesus Christ. Thank You, that my sins have been washed away forever, and I pray that as I live the Christian life I may be continuously cleansed through the washing of the Word of God, for Your Word is pure and wholesome, Your Word is light and life. Sanctify me by Your Word of grace I pray.
Help me to look deeply into Your Word of truth, knowing that the more that I am washed and cleansed by the written Word of God, the more I will come to see the lovely face of the living Word of God, my beautiful Saviour, Jesus Christ my Lord.
I pray that my heart and mind may be purified daily by the cleansing flood that comes from You, and I pray that rivers of living water may flow from You through me to others, so that I may reflect the love of God in my life and point others to Christ. May the face of Jesus my Saviour be the only thing that others see in me, for I must decrease so that He may increase. I ask this in Jesus’ name,
Heavenly Father, I long to be like Jesus and know that in myself I will always fall short of His standard of perfection and purity, but Lord I pray that You would examine my inner heart and secret thoughts and identify in me those areas that need to be rooted out, so that Christ may live in me and work through me to Your greater glory.
Give me the grace to recognise any impure areas in my life that need to be rooted out, and make me willing to engage in the painful process of having all that dishonours Your name cut away by the Holy Spirit’s scalpel of truth. Help me to keep the eyes of my heart fixed on Jesus Christ my Lord, and grant me the purity of heart and integrity of spirit that is becoming of a vessel fit for Your use.
Begin to search me today O Lord, know my heart, and see if there is any impurity of heart, evil intent or prideful thoughts. May I be willing to be stripped of everything that is not of You, so that I may be pure and holy in Your sight. In Jesus’ name I pray,
Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Himself said that those who are pure in heart are truly blessed, but Lord I know that of myself I can never attain the standard of purity that You require. Lord, I know that only as I allow the Holy Spirit to live in me, work through me, teach and train me will I come to that purity of heart that only comes from You, as I am conformed into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus.
Lord, for too long I have been smugly comparing myself advantageously with others around me, and believing that I was pure in Your eyes. But now that I have come to realise that the only standard to which You are comparing me is the Lord Jesus, I humbly kneel before You, at the foot of Your throne and ask your forgiveness for my self-indulgent pride and ego-centricity. May I look to Jesus and live as He lived in spirit and truth, seeking only to do Your will and to live a life that honours You.
Search my heart and purify my thoughts, and may Your indwelling Holy Spirit identify any pride and self-importance that is lurking within as You conform me day by day into the likeness of the Lord Jesus. Help me to make the right choices in my life, the choices that honour You. In Jesus’ name I pray,

Give me a heart that breaks with Yours at the sufferings of others and the hurt that seems to permeate the world.
Hide me in Your Most Holy Heart, Lord Jesus.
Help me to remove all the doubts and unclean thoughts that are inside my mind, heart, and soul now.
Let Your power be revealed in me and through me, oh God and create in me a clean heart.

Lord help me to think about things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report… Philippians 4:8
Lord in your mercy remove every Stony heart and give me a heart of flesh ( A receptive heart).
