DAY 10: WEILDING THE POWER WITHIN MY TONGUE

TEXT: Prov 18:21 Prov 21:23 1 Peter 3:10 Isaiah 50:4

10 DAYS ARE GONE!!!

It’s the 11th day of this wonderful prayer programme and of a truth, God has been faithful!

Has he been faithful to you too?

If you’ve been praying, I am sure you’d have tasted of His faithfulness.

I do know that God has been our strength since this program started and I know He will continually strengthen us till the end in Jesus name (Amen).

Let us not be weary, as the bible has assured us that those that wait on God shall have their strength renewed.

Today, we will be carving out our world by our words!

On the very first day, we learnt that we have been created in the image of God which means we possess the characteristics that God has and if that is the case just like the words of God are powerful, so also our words are powerful and we are going to us that to our own advantage.

Amen?

Amen!!!!

We will be looking at our tongue and how we can wield that weapon to our advantage.

The book of Prov 18:21 (AMP) says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it (for death or life)”

This means with our tongues, we can kill or bring to life.

Our tongue though a little member of the body is very powerful and with this tongue, we can use it to hurt or build up ourselves or others.

No wonder the bible says “and the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity…” in James 3:6.

Today, we will be using our tongue to prophesy good things into our lives, into our situations and circumstances but before we do that, we need to purge our tongue.

For some of us, the devil has taken possession of our tongues, we need to first overthrow his government after which we can start to prophesy good things into our lives.

Shall we????

Let us begin to thank God for thus far He has helped us.

Today is day 10 and the devil has tried so many times to hinder us from praying but here we are still carving out our destinies.

Ask for forgiveness of sins. Confess your sins before God and ask Him to wash away all of it.

Begin to take charge of your environment, pray against evil forces that may want to distract you from praying.

Invite the Holy Spirit to take over the prayer and give you the right words.

Like I said earlier, we are purging our tongues first:

Let the fire of God purge my tongue from contamination in the name of Jesus.

Ask that the Holy Spirit bring to your remembrance whatever may have contaminated your tongue and ask for a purging be it evil concoction, evil kiss, evil vows, even words, abuses and curses, complaints at God and man etc.

Cut yourself from every evil spirit of venomous speech.

Command every venomous and acidic trait in you, inherited or acquired to depart from you in the name of Jesus.

Command every serpentine spirit and poison to depart from your tongue.

(There are some people that whenever they open their mouth to talk, its venomous words that come out. They never have good words pouring out of their mouths.)

(For some, it is lies. They are so used to it that they can’t control themselves.)

Purge your tongues sisters, we can’t have salt and fresh water coming from the same source (James 3:11)

Command every spirit of bondage and destruction in your tongue to depart in Jesus name.

(Some people utter cutting words to people, words that are enough to destroy the image of a person, but as believers we are to edify not destroy or pull down.)

Purge your tongue from destruction sisters

Ask that God will heal you from the disease of the tongue.

Lord deliver my tongue from becoming a cemetery of evil.

(Now that we have purged our tongues, we are now going to pray for restoration or reversal of all the damage we have done with our tongues.)

Lord repair all the damages done to my life as a result of the wrong use of my tongue.

Begin to withdraw all the evil words you have uttered against your life, home, nation etc.

Pray that all the problems in your life that originated as a result of wrong use of your tongue receive instant solution in the name of Jesus.

Pray for a wholesome tongue that pronounces blessings on yourself and other people.

Ask that God make your voice a voice of deliverance, healing, power and solution.

As we go to this last aspect of our prayer, I would want us to take our song for today:

Just as the song as said, begin to declare into existence what you want to see IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WORD OF GOD.

If God has given you a promise about a particular situation, this is the time to remind God about it and speak what He has said to life.

What is that negative situation you find yourself in, start to confess positively about it.

Confess positive things over your life, family, career, business, future, the nation and BUD.

Keep confessing until you are satisfied in your spirit

As we confess, so shall it be unto us.
