It is Day 13 and dear sisters, this is just so marvelous in my sight! The Lord has been faithful! Testimonies abound! Every day, the Lord glorifies Himself! Thank You Jesus! Do not forget to share your own testimonies as they come. God bless you.

 

Sisters, today, we will be knocking on Heaven’s door for VICTORY OVER THE SPIRIT OF ‘ALMOST THERE’

 

Quickly say a short prayer to the Lord. That He will speak to you. That He will reveal things to you and that His Name will be glorified in the prayers of today. Amen!

 

The agenda of the Almighty for our lives is to move from strength to strength and breakthrough to breakthrough and heaven has pushed many to the edge of their breakthrough because of the prayers they have prayed but there is an adversary waiting for them. Without a breakthrough, you remain where you are. Everyone needs breakthrough and a single breakthrough can put an end to long-term problems

 

Before every new breakthrough, there is always a new/harder battle to fight. The agenda of the battle is to push you back and to get you to surrender during the battle. *Our greatest battle comes before our greatest breakthrough.* The greatest tragedy is that many give up at the edge of their breakthroughs. There is a powerful demon called the demon of ‘Almost There’. People near riches but never get it. People near liberty but embrace bondage. People need spiritual empowerment but suddenly, something happens!

 

Deuteronomy 32:48-52

 

48 On that same day the Lord told Moses, 

 

49 “Go up into the Abarim Range to Mount Nebo in Moab, across from Jericho, and view Canaan, the land I am giving the Israelites as their own possession. 

 

50 There on the mountain that you have climbed you will die and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. 

51 This is because both of you broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because you did not uphold my holiness among the Israelites. 

 

52 Therefore, you will see the land only from a distance; you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Israel.”

 

The spirit of failure at the edge of breakthrough is a wasting spirit. It makes you waste your time.

 

The spirit of ‘almost there’ can also be called ‘almost there but never there’ or ‘war at the edge of breakthrough’ or ‘failure at the edge of breakthrough’ as the case may be!

 

The spirit can render people nothing in life. This made the prodigal son misuse his inheritance. The power can rubbish your dreams and make you look foolish before your destiny.

 

A person may be locked up in one location when his blessings are in another location. Whenever a big blessing is about to come, a certain force would come to stop the breakthrough.

 

The spirit of failure at the edge of breakthrough is a destructive spirit.  The spirit frustrates the life of a person and puts stumbling-blocks on its  victims’ way. To rise up and receive God’s blessings becomes frustratingly difficult.

 

The enemy designed it in such a way that the person can never progress or make any meaningful impact in life.

 

For example, If the person progresses, it will be too slow. Most times, it comes through oppression and denial.  If you constantly experience this spiritual attack, you seriously need to deliver yourself by praying some aggressive prayers!

 

Paul said in one of his letters to the Corinthian Christians:

 

“For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Cor. 16:9

 

Had Paul just said, “for a great door and effectual is opened unto me” and stopped, we would have every cause to jump and shout. However, notice how he continues: “and there are many adversaries.”

 

That’s war at the Edge of Breakthrough.

 

The door was opened, and it was not an ordinary door. Paul described it as a great and effectual door. The moment the enemies saw that the door was opened, they showed up to close it, thereby hindering Paul from going through his breakthrough.

 

We are at the edge of breakthrough – are you going to cross over? We have all struggled to get to this point –will we follow the Holy Spirit into our destiny –or – will we hold back and just test the waters?

 

Let’s look at a place in the WORD OF GOD called Kadesh Barnea. See, Biblical names of people, places and things have meanings that teach profound spiritual lessons.

 

Kadesh Barnea was a transit point in the pilgrimage of the children of Israel to the Promised Land. Do you know what happened to the children of Israel at Kadesh Barnea?

 

Kadesh Barnea was a point of retreat at the edge of the Promised Land. Kadesh Barnea is symbolic of a negative turning point. There was a war for the children of Israel at Kadesh Barnea but instead of winning, they lost!

 

Geographically, from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea was an eleven days journey. And I am telling you, sisters that the Presence of God that the children of Israel experienced at Horeb – Mount Sinai – was to strengthen the faith of God’s people to enter the Promised Land.

 

Eleven days after the great experience at Horeb, they got to Kadesh Barnea. From that place to Canaan itself was only a two days journey. Between the Promised Land and Horeb was the place where the powers of failure at the edge of success attacked, forcing the children of Israel to fall back from the place that was so close.

 

This journey is described in Deut 1. They had travelled for 11 days with only 2 more to go to reach their destination. Yet after all the efforts, the severity of the journey so far from Egypt, just two days to enter their rest – what happened? God’s Chosen people faltered, failed and fell to their own doom. The spirit of Kadesh Barnea was at work!

 

You have worked on a project. You have pursued your career to graduation level. You have prayed fervently, almost getting the desired results. You have waited patiently just about to obtain the desired blessing. But something strange happens and you forfeit, you walk away from the completion of the project, the career, obtaining answers to the prayers and the patience that have cost you so much.

 

It’s the work of the spirit of Kadesh Barnea! It makes people miss their blessings just when they are about to get them. Instead of receiving a miracle pass, the opposition intercepts and takes over.

 

This spirit worked so much against the children of Israel that the anointed exhortations from the firebrand lips of Moses, a mighty servant of God, didn’t work. Will that happen here? The people were hardened to their own hurt. Some people are like that under the attacks of this spirit. There is nothing anybody or servant of God can say to encourage them or to help them carry on. They just want to quit their career, quit their jobs, and quit their projects, quit their counselling at the edge of their breakthroughs.

 

WHAT IS THE SPIRIT OF KADESH BARNEA IN YOUR LIFE?

 

It is when you cannot point to anything tangible you have achieved with your life.

 

It is when you stand at a crossroads, not knowing what to do or where to turn.

 

It is staying at a satanic bus-stop meaning staying where you are. Your life is the same now as it was last year; it is like you are drifting in the ocean of life.

 

In actual fact, we need to pray, sisters!

 

With fervour and urgency in your heart, pray. With a sincere heart before the Lord, you will discover the secrets you ought to know about your life. With sincerity in your heart, He easily reveals secrets to you. In your dreams, He will show you the operation of the spirit of Kadesh Barnea against your life. Ask Him! As you pray today, as Him! As you are about to sleep, tell Him to reveal things to you about this spirit of Kadesh Barnea in your life!

 

You must declare war on the powers that are hindering you. Wars on the spirit that are making you and your family to be stagnant or retrogressing!

Every pot of witchcraft boiling to keep problems fresh in my life every day, break in the name of Jesus.

Spiritual Jordan River demarcating me from my post of blessings dry up in the name of Jesus.

 

I set ablaze any chambers of witchcraft utilized to organize evil against my destiny in the name of Jesus.

 

Every Spirit of “almost there” operating against my life, die in the name of Jesus.
