TOPIC: DISARMING THE STRONGMAN

TEXT: LUKE 11:21-22

BIBLE STUDY: MATTHEW 13

It’s another day of battle, welcome, dear sisters. I trust the Lord has been renewing your strength. Please continue the fight. May you be able to tarry and dig into the victory that the Lord has made available for you through His Blood in Jesus Name. Amen. 

TESTIMONY SPOTLIGHT 

Let us read through this amazing testimony to rouse our spirits before we start to pray. May your own testimony also arrive to the Glory of the Lord alone in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

INTRODUCTION

I found this quote somewhere and oh how it describes so well the cruelty and hatred of the Devil and his agents for God and man. Oh how I wish this comes alive in us because deep down, if it comes alive in us how evil and hateful and cruel the Devil is to us and to all that pertains to the Lord, I think that Rhema is enough to propel us into a huge hate for him and a big fight against him.  Read it carefully below:

“Satan does not play fair. He is constantly at war with God and His people and he follows no rules of engagement when in battle. He shows no compassion to the wounded, never gives quarter and does not voluntarily return prisoners of war. He will violently assault any person, anywhere, anytime, regardless of age or station in life. The evil one is driven by hate for all that is good and works to strike at people when they are most vulnerable. He despises the image of God within people, and absolutely abhors the Spirit of God that resides with Christians.”- Terry Wardle

Oh my my my! Why wait ye any longer, sis? If you sit still and fight not fervently, for you, your family, your children and children unborn, the church, the nation, you do no well! 

THE STRONG MAN

What exactly does the strong man mean? Who is he? What are his activities? Let us look at a few Bible verses to reach our answers:

Matthew 12:29 says: Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

Mark 3:27 says: No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

Isaiah 49:24-25 says: Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the Lord, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

From these verses, here are 7 characteristics of the strong man. 

• A strong man is mighty.

• A strong man is terrible.

• A strong man is a collector of ‘goods’.

• A strong man operates by laws. 

• A strong man is armed.

• A strong man has a strong defense built around his house of stolen goods. 

• A strong man can only be defeated by a stronger man. 

I have been privileged to see a few strong men in the spirit and I can tell you that they are very real. Ah, if at this point, you still doubt the existence of all these spiritual battles, oh, may you not learn from experience in the Name of Jesus. May God wake you up to reality so that you will not taste evil before you believe it exists. Amen, I pray for you from my heart. 

One pastor was saying one day that he wondered what people do praying for up to two hours. ‘What are they saying?’. It just didn’t make sense to him why someone would be travailing in the Spirit for just two hours? A pastor? Jesus even asked his disciples if they couldn’t even watch with him for ‘just one hour’? What does that mean? He was saying, ‘Sons of men, you couldn’t even spend a minimum of one hour from your 24 hours travailing for your spirits?’. I eventually got a message about the pastor recently. He has become, according to the info a very serious prayer warrior. What happened? The Devil visited him and his home and showed him a little of his colours. 

Oh, may we not learn spiritual warfare only when the war had begun! May we be trained, armed and fortified beforehand so that we will not be lost or lose valuables in the battle in Jesus Name. Amen. 

I was praying for one of my ladies who was about getting married one day. She was set to enter into a very big, lovely gate and there at the gate sat the strong man. He was so huge, barechested, obese, a giant (Yorubas will call him ‘omiran’) and he had a black and red wrapper on. As this lady was approaching the gate, he guarded it powerfully. Suddenly, he dozed off and this lady picked race and entered into the gate. As if the wind of the run blew at him, he woke up suddenly, jumped to his feet, fury on his face. Then, he started to pursue this lady. When I woke up, I knew it- war! There was obviously a strong man at the gate of the marital life of the lady’s family who wouldn’t allow her pass through. And then, she broke through and then the strongman says, oh the battle line is drawn! Sisters, this is reality!

One of the men on my prayer list was also shown to me at another time. He was sitting on a soakaway, munching at some foods. He looked so content with his life, he was even smiling at me as a form of welcome. But what he probably couldn’t see was that he was covered in bruises and bandages. Oh he was wounded! Right beside him was a replica of him in rags- the strongman. The one who had dealt with him! The one who had rubbished his life and wouldn’t allow him amount to anything! He was seated beside him, guarding his life. He wouldn’t allow him move an inch without him! Ahhhh! The strong man! You have dealt with him so mercilessly, wouldn’t you leave him alone now? No! He would continue to guard him, so he would never attain his freedom and get his treasures back from him!

There are a few other instances that I could share with us but let us stop with these. The strong man is very real. How can he even not be real when the Bible makes reference to him? Does it mean the Bible lies? Not at all! 

That is why I emphasize the importance of the seeing eyes, the hearing ears and the knowing minds. If the Lord opens up the channels of our spirits and we begin to see the reality that goes on in that realm, oh how amazing would it be for us! Oh how well we would them be able to pray!

Those two revelations I showed you above shaped the way I pray for these two persons, for myself (based on what He showed me about even myself) and others that the Lord has revealed. Oh may the Lord give us understanding. Oh may we never walk in the dark from this day forward in Jesus Name. 

DISARMING THE STRONGMAN

Our business today is disarming the strong man or men, regardless of how many they are who have stolen our goods, put them in their store/palaces and deprived us in sensitive areas of our lives! They need to be stripped naked of their powers, subdued and all that they have stolen needs to be recovered by the power of our God! Amen. 

Luke 11:21-22, our text for today says: When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.

Like I said while highlighting the characteristics of the strong man, he is strong and mighty. Oh yes! When you see him, he is scary, he is tough, his eyes burns with fire and death but you know what? HE IS NOT TO BE FEARED! You bring the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, the Cross of Jesus, the Word of God close to him and you will see he is a baby with a big body! Hahaha. 

SAY LOUDLY AND CONFIDENTLY

I laugh at you oh strong man because beside my Lord, you are nothing but a baby with a big body! Hahaha

Then, I also said that he is a collector of ‘goods’. Oh yes! Death comes to kill, Mr. Re-creator comes to destroy and now Mr. Strong man comes to steal! He will collect the goods of the lives of people when they are watching with tears strolling down their faces, when they are sleeping and snoring away or just at any time he launches out. When you see him coming out, well dressed with his dark specs and queen’s English, do not think that he has come to joke with you. He is on an assignment. He is on a shopping spree. And you know what? He has a very high taste. He doesn’t collect bad things, he collects good things. He collects treasures. He collects the most important valuables of a man’s life. 

We also saw that he operates by laws. Oh, this guy has studied all the laws of the Lord. He is able to quote one verse or the other to prove to the Lord that you deserve to be under his government. If you look at Zechariah 3, you would see him right beside the high priest, Zechariah. As this man was before the Lord, the strongman was right beside him to stop the Lord from attending to him. He kept on resisting him- right before the Lord! Why? He had a legal ground. He saw a stain on Zechariah’s garment, so he was telling the Lord that he couldn’t attend to Zechariah because of that. 

CRY OUT LOUD

• Oh Lord, all the stains of my life giving the strongman the right to resist me from ascending to You and You from reaching to me, I ask humbly that you wash me clean of them with the Blood of Jesus. 

• Oh Lord, please have mercy upon me in the Name of Jesus. Have mercy upon me Lord (7x)

• Gracious Lord, grant me a raiment of righteousness now and give me Your Spirit of Grace to be able to maintain the purity from this day forward in the Name of Jesus. 

• (Lay your hands upon your chest) Oh Holy Spirit of God, come and live afresh in me, make my life, my body, my home uninhabitable for the strongman from this day forward in the Name of Jesus Christ. 

So, it could be your parents’ sins he wants to use against you. Oh the sins of your forefathers, or your bloodline. He could want to use your past sexual sins and soul ties to hold you bound. He has a lot of tactics and many times, he is correct. Except the Lord speaks in his mercies, especially if you have been living a life that pleases him and have been doing warfare, this stronghold can go on for years, from the cradle to the grave! He is a legal personnel. He knows the Lord is faithful to His Word, so he uses that same Word to hold God’s children captive.

‘Why should I leave her alone when she is mine?’

‘She is my, Satan! Leave her’

‘If she is yours, why did you say she should submit to her husband and she wouldn’t?’ 

Ghen ghen! The strong man has spoken! 

‘God, you cannot do that big thing for that girl because she is mine’ 

‘How’s she yours?’

‘She is linked in her blood to Agbabiaka, my son with seven demons when they slept together, fifteen years ago.’ 

Another goal! If the lady had not been knowledgeable in the act of warfare to use the Blood of Jesus to clean her blood from all the sexual sins deposit, she could be bound like that though she speaks in tongues!

Also, we can see from our text that the strong man is armed and has a strong defense built around his house of stolen goods. Just as I shared with you from the reality of the man who had a demonic replica of him guarding him, the strongman wouldn’t just steal, he would guard his house and ensure that what he has stolen doesn’t go back to the rightful owners! He would so much build a defense around it that only the Lord can bring it down! Physical fights with witches and wizards wouldn’t bring it down. Insulting people and telling them they are the sources of your problem will not bring it down. He is fully armed and his defense round your treasures- your lovely marriage, your glorious children, your good health, your favorable relationships, your academic and financial success, your happy home etc. is so tall and insurmountable!

However, we can see from our text that the strongman can be defeated by a stronger man! Oh glory! What a hope again! We are not left hopeless! The God of Heaven and earth is on our side! He will yet go on this battle with us and win it! See how the verse puts it: 

…But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.

The Lord will: 

• Come upon him (Hahaha, like a flood) 
• Overcome him (Ayayayyaaya, Power pass power!)
• Take from him all his armor that he trusts in 
• Divide/Share his spoils

Sisters, can you see what we miss when we worry and cry and complain and murmur instead of pray? Can you see what we miss when we choose building our bodies and minds and souls over exercising our spirits? We hinder the Lord from acting! We allow our treasures to lie at peace in the devil’s palace! No more! 

CRY OUT

No more shall my treasures lie at peace in the custody of the strongman! My treasures, receive fire now and begin to trouble the strongman in the Name of Jesus Christ! Amen! 

So, today is the day of war. We wouldn’t have to fight in this battle, remember? We would only have to position ourselves and allow the Lord possess us. He will be the One to come upon the strongman, overcome him, take away all his armors and defenses and then share all his goods. Then, your own portion will reach you, the one of your mother will reach her, the ones of your father will reach him etc. Amen?

Cry Out

Today, I shall have my treasures back from the strongholds of the strongman in the Name of Jesus. Oh, Jesus restores me my portion and I receive them by fire today in Jesus Name. Amen. 

PRAYER TIME

WORSHIP 

Let us take some quality time to worship the Lord for His Word that we have just gone through. Thank Him for the specific revelations that He has given you today. When you are done, move on. 

SPIRITUAL SANITATION 

Begin to sanitize your life right now. Rid your life of every sins and iniquities with the Blood of Jesus. The Lord does not hear the prayers coming from the mouth of a sinner, but if such confesses and forsakes the sins, the Lord will have mercy, hear and forgive.

ATMOSPHERIC SANITATION

Now, take charge of your environment. Begin to cover where you are now with the Blood of Jesus. Cover yourself with the fire of the Holy Ghost.

• Every House Of Wickedness Harbouring My Stolen Blessings, I Serve You A Judgment Now As One Who Has Obtained The Grace Of God. Come Under The Barrage Of Divine Fiery Bullets, Bombs And Missiles And Surrender My Blessings To Me Nooooowwwww, In Jesus Mighty Name. Surrender My Blessings To Me Now In The Name Of Jesus! Surrender!!!

• You The Angels Of Divine Disarmament, Move Swiftly Into The Armed Defenses Of My Ancestral, Local, And Global Strongman Waging War Against My Divine Inheritance, Disarm! Dismantle! And Utterly Destroy! Their Ammunition Now! Strip Them Naked Of Their Armoury Now In The Name Of Jesus

• Oh Thou Mercies Of The Lord, Arise And Stand Between Me And Every Legality That The Strongman Is Employing To Deal With Me In The Name Of Jesus. Oh Mercies Of The Lord, Prevail Over Every Lawful Judgment Pronounced Against My Lot In Jesus Name. 

• Lord, By Your Power And According To Your Word, Plunder The Treasury And Warehouse Of The Strongman, And Plunder All Goods Belonging To My Inheritance That Have Been Locked Down There. Lord, Bring Them To Me Nooooowwwww By Your Love In The Name Of Jesus.

• By The Power Of Stronger-Than-He, I Overcome And Overthrow Every Power Sitting On My Blessings Now In Jesus Name.

• Let Every Decision Taken Against Me By The Wicked Be Rendered Null And Void From This Day On, In The Name Of Jesus.

• Strong men from both sides of my family, I command you to gather yourselves together and begin to destroy yourselves by yourselves in the name of Jesus.

• Oh Lord God, turn me into untouchable hot coals of fire for the strong men of my father and mother’s sides in Jesus Name 

• I bind, plunder and render to naught every strongman assigned against my reproductive system, marital life, health, finances and lots in life in Jesus’ name.

• Let the stubborn strongman delegated against me fall down to the ground and become impotent, in the name of Jesus.

• I bind every strongman having my goods in his possessions, in the name of Jesus.

• I overcome every activity of the the strongman fashioned against my life in Jesus name. 

• I release all my blessings from the house of the strongman now in Jesus name. 

• You strongman of body destruction, loose your hold over my body now by fire in the name of Jesus.

• Every strongman of financial collapse, marital collapse, academic collapse, life collapse, receive the hailstones of fire and be roasted beyond remedy now, in Jesus’ name.

• Every door of my destiny at which the strong man sits trying to hinder me from going through, become too hot for now for the strong man now and explode into his face so he can leave that vicinity now in the Name of Jesus. 

• You evil strongman, attached to my lot and destiny, be bound by fire now, in Jesus’ name.

• Let the backbone of the stubborn pursuer and strongman of my life break to irreparable pieces now, in the name of Jesus.

• Every demonic doorkeeper, locking out good things from me, be paralyzed by fire, in the name of Jesus.

• Let there be a civil war in the kingdom of darkness over my case in the name of Jesus.

• Let stubborn confusion come upon the headquarters of my enemies.

• My Father, loose panic and frustration on satanic orders issued against me, in the name of Jesus.

• Every strongman sitting down, praying satanic prayers against me, be consumed by fire in Jesus Name.

PRAYER REQUEST SPOTLIGHTS

Could we please join hands together to raise our voices to the Lord on behalf of these sisters? 

Side note: I do not take the last prayer point for granted. That was so thoughtful of you, sis. I mean, of all prayers to put in, you decided to send that in, I am blessed. God bless you immensely.

DECLARE THESE VERSES POWERFULLY

Psalm 35:4-6 says: Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Psalm 129:4 says: The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion (me).

Psalm 18:17 says: He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

Psalm 18:37-40 says I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet. For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

Psalm 124:7 says Our (My) soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are (I am) escaped.

NOW TO OUR PRAYER JOURNALS

Let us raise our prayer list to the Lord and tell Him all about our requests. Let us ask the Father in the Name of Jesus to turn those requests into testimonies for us according to His Will in Jesus’ Name. Let us pray fervently on them before we move on.

PRAISE THE LORD!

Take a good time to sing praises to the Name of the Lord for all He has done today. Amen.
