I remember the waves of peace that washed over me the moment I asked Jesus into my life. It felt like a burden was lifted off me. An inexplicable river of joy and contentment engulfed my entire being.

Before then, I had battled with some overwhelming experiences, most of which were related to the teen-age crisis and finding my identity amidst the echoes of a chaotic and daunting past. When I came to the Lord, He gave me rest. He also gave me a new slate—an opportunity to start over. It was such a moment of refreshing newness for me. 

Year 2023 came to us as a new slate from God. And in the past few weeks of the year, we have begun to write on it. If you think the year did not start on a good note, here is a word for you from Isaiah 43:15-20 (Living Bible). God is saying to you: 

“I am the Lord, your Holy One, (your name)’s Creator and King.  I am the Lord who opened a way through the waters, making a path right through the sea… But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I’m going to do! For I’m going to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun… so that my chosen one (your name), can be refreshed’. 

Did you hear God speak to you through those verses? He does not lie! Sit tight and watch Him work out His beautiful plans and purposes for you, His dearly beloved child. Year 2023 is more than enough for God to work wonders and showcase His glory in your life. You only need to have faith, await His instructions, obey them, and stay alert for the manifestation. Remember, we are in a season of refreshing newness!
